Attack

Suddenly, a familiar sound resonated through the air. Wings.

"Cas, get inside. Warn the others. We're under attack." He rushed inside, and I grabbed my angel blade, keeping my wings visible. 5 angels appeared in front of me. Leading them was the last person I wanted to see.

"Raphael. What do you want?"

"You failed me, Shadow. And now, you must pay."

"Come and get me." One of the angels ran towards me, angel blade in hand. But, with my wings out, I was faster. I slashed his arm and stabbed him through the throat. He died with a flash of light, his wing print burnt into the ground.

"I'm sorry, brother." I focused my attention back to Raphael.

"I said for you to come and get me. Or are you too cowardly."

"Why are you protecting them? They're human, and Castiel's a traitor."

"They're also family. All of them.  Leave now, or face the consequences."

"And what can a freak like you do to an archangel like me?"

"A lot." I responded, a menacing smile planted on my face, and flames reflecting in my eyes.

"Father always had to have his special little girl."

Castiel returned with the Winchesters and Bobby. More angels appeared behind Raphael. There were 5 of us, and about 10 of them.

"Looks like we a fight on our hands." Dean said, a little over-enthused. I heard guns cocking and the swish of another angel blade.

"No. I have a fight. I won't have you getting killed."

"Shadow, you know you can't protect them. They'll be dead before you can strike me." Raphael taunted.

"DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH MY FAMILY!!"
I felt the anger rise up inside me, and red crossed my vision. I snarled, and my grace went from a bright white to a dark black. My hands curled into claws, and my teeth elongated into fangs. My eyes went from blue, to demon black.

"Cas, has she been possessed?" I heard Sam ask.

"No. This is the reason she is called a Dark Angel. It took her years to control it. She's very...protective."

"So, really, piss her off, and she rips you to shreds." Dean questions.

"Yes. That is the basics of it." I returned my attention to Raphael.

"Now, I'll warn you one more time. Back off." I growled. He merely chuckled.

"So, Freak reveals her true True form? Interesting. I wonder what your new family thinks about this." I ignored his comment. I ran towards him and knocked him onto the ground. I pierced his shoulders and his sides.

"Yes. That's it. Show them the monster you really are." He whispered. I shook my head, growling. I remembered I had dropped my angel blade on the ground. I turned around, and Castiel was holding it.

"Cas, please give me my angel blade."

"I can't let you kill him." I gasped. He...wanted Raphael to live.

"Cas, please. I need to do this. This way, you'll all be safe." Cas sighed and threw my angel blade to me. I caught it and faced back towards Raphael.

"Now, would you like it quick, or shall I do it nice and slow?"

"How about slow. Then, you can become even more corrupted." I growled at him. I twisted my claws into him one more time, earning a satisfying scream, then got off him. He looked at me, confused. Even in my crouched position, he was wary of me.

"What? You wanted it nice and slow. Now, you have it. But, if you come here again, I will strap you to a chair and torture you that way." With a flutter of wings, Raphael disappeared, along with the ten angels. I felt my vision returning to normal, and my claws returning to fingers. My grace became a bright white again and my eyes went back to grey. My teeth stayed as fangs.

"Damn."

"Shadow? Are you okay?" I heard Cas ask. But, everything was a blur, and my legs gave out.

"SHADOW!" Cas shouted.

"I'm okay. I guess I got a little bit carried away there." I chuckled. I eased myself off the ground.

"See? I can stand." Dean came over and stood in front of me. He held up fingers.

"How many fingers am I holding up?"

"One, I do not understand this test, two, you are holding up three of them," I stated.

"Wow. Well, you passed, but you're as clueless as Cas." I frowned, not being able to make any sense out of his words.

"See? You look like Cas when you do that."

"I do not...do I?" We all laughed at my confusion.

When we stopped laughing, I remembered one of my brothers lay dead. I went over, picked up his body and set it on fire with my eyes. He burned away, but my arms didn't burn.

"I am sorry, brother." I turned over the gravel, so the scorch mark weren't visible.

"Is that...normal?" Bobby asked.

"Yes. As his killer, she is giving him a respectful funeral. It's how things are done in Heaven." Cas responded. I went back over to them.

"It's like when a hunter is cremated. Except the reasons are a little different." I compared.
"Very interesting."
