Memories

I hated lying to Cas. But, if he knew where I was going, he would have either tried to stop me, or insisted on coming with me. I arrived in my heaven. The waterfall rushed, and the magpies sang in the trees. I didn't have time to stop and sing back.

Sooner or later Raphael would find me. I traveled a bit further, until I came to a log. Inside, I found my weapons, and some spare grace. I didn't remember why I had it, or how, but I stowed it in the backpack I had just conjured up. I grabbed my weapons and placed those in the backpack too. Whilst getting my silver knife, my hand brushed against something smooth and cold.

I placed the knife in my pack, and brushed the leaves away. There, nestled at the very bottom, was an old painting. It was Cas, Gabriel and I.

"We were all so much happier then." I sighed. Looking at the painting, I remembered something. I dug out some more leaves, and found an old black cat toy with blue eyes. I gasped as I remembered when I got it.

I had almost had another turn. Some of the angels were teasing me. Gabriel was dealing with them, and had left Cas to calm me down.

"Castiel, I wish they would stop hurting me." I said, coughing.

"I know, Shadow, I know." Cas said, patting my head. I rubbed by stomach where they had both kicked me. I hissed in pain. Lifting up my shirt, I saw bruises. They had also damaged one of my organs. Thankfully, my angel power healed my wounds.

"I should've gotten here earlier."

"Brother, I'm okay. I'm all healed."

"That doesn't make it right. They could have hurt you badly. Maybe I should hurt them back." I moved away from him, terrified. I didn't like it when he got like this. He noticed my distress.

"Shadow? I'm sorry."

"Just...promise me something..."

"Anything."

"Never go on looking for revenge. It'll consume you."

"I promise, Shadow." Gabriel appeared in front of us.

"Alright, that's them taken care of."

"Thanks guys. You're the best brothers I could ever ask for." I waved my hand in the air, and a bag landed in front of Gabriel. He looked at me, confused.

"Open it." He opened the bag, and found a whole heap of sweets inside. He smiled widely.

"Thanks, Shadow." He said, digging in. Cas and I laughed.

"Oh, I have something for you too, Castiel." I took a lump of gold from my pocket and focused on it. It caught fire. When it stopped burning, the shapeless lump had become a golden bee. I handed it to Cas. His eyes shone.

"Thank you, Shadow." He put his hands behind his back, and revealed a black cat toy with beautiful blue eyes. He handed it to me.

"Wow. Thank you." I said still in awe of it's beauty.

"It has eyes like yours, Brother." I noticed.

"Really?" Cas asked

"Mhm." We all  sat on the ground, laughing and being silly. That was the day before everything went bad. That was the last day I showed any emotion.

I gently placed the cat in my pack, and traveled back to Bobby's house.

"There you are, Shadow. We were looking for you." Sam says, pulling me into a crushing hug. I awkwardly pet his back.

"Alright Sam. You have to let go now. I...can't...breath..." He let me go, and I gasped in as much air as I could.

"Sorry." He apologized.

"It's alright. I'm sorry for worrying you guys."

"Speaking of which, we better go inside and let Dean, Bobby and Cas know you're okay." We entered the house, and Sam called out.

"Bobby, Dean, Cas!"  They all came to the door. I received a hug from Dean and Cas. I just exchanged glances with Bobby.

"What the hell, Shadow? You were gone for the whole day." Dean said, angry, yet relieved.

"I...just went for a walk."

"Bull. You went back up to Heaven, didn't you?" He asked. Am I really that easy to read?

"Okay, fine. Yes. I went back to Heaven." I admitted.

"Why?" Questioned Cas.

"To collect some things I had left there."

"What 'things'?" Dean asked.

"Gosh. Is this a security clearance? Leave the poor girl alone for a moment. She's been interrogated and accused all day." Bobby exclaimed.

"Thanks, Bobby." I said. I took off my backpack and handed it to Dean.

"Be careful, alright? I don't need anything broken. Some of the things in there are...personal." Dean made a face.

"Not like that. Special." I rolled my eyes and made my way into the living room. I heard Dean unzipping the backpack.

"What is this?" He asked.

"It's something Gabriel and I gave her." Cas answered.

"Hm." Dean murmured, going through the pack again.

"A painting?" Sam asked.

"She was rather adorable as a fledgling." Cas commented. I went to the edge of the wall, listening.

"What is a fledgling?" Dean asked, confused.

"A fledgling is a baby angel. But, they're rarely created." I spoke up. "Cas and I both began as fledglings. We were...twins...pretty much. But, he was more mature than I was. Just a bit. Whenever I got hurt, he was there...and....Gabriel." I heard a metallic scraping sound coming from Cas' coat pocket. Everybody looked at him in confusion. He took out two things. One, his angel blade, then, the golden bee I had made him.

"What's that?" Dean asked, pointing to the bee.

"It's a bee made of gold. Shadow made it for me."
