To anyone who did not know me would probably think I had no business in the hospital. I'm 5ft 6.5" 127lbs. I had no stomach what so ever!
I looked very funny laying upside down in the bed. The nurse walked in and place the monitor on my tiny stomach. I honestly had no clue how Tj was moving around lol. He did not like the monitor he kicked and moved so hard it actually started to hurt me. He only moved like this when the monitor was placed on me. Like how do you know this stuff Son? The nurse had to leave the monitor on us for 30 mins. She said they have to keep track of his heart and make sure he's still fine. Now many people would actually like to have their baby monitored, but I completely understand my baby I didn't like it either. We both were uncomfortable. But it wasn't about me I had to throw all selfishness aside and be strong for Tj.
My Dr walked and and told me that his heart was strong and Tj was doing good. My Dr ordered me to go on an call liquid diet. I have never done that a day in my life, whether I liked it or not I had to suck it up and do what ever I needed to do for the sake of Tj! He said I needed to be on a diet for a number of reasons. The main 2 were #1 I had the morning sickness issue. If I were to vomit, he didn't want me to make the issue worse by me vomiting. #2 I needed to be hydrated to the max. If you're dehydrated that can trigger labor. I looked at my family and they felt sorry for me. Aunt Debra told me she was going to buy us alot of Ensure (a Nutritional shake) she asked me what flavor would I prefer? I told her chocolate ( I know that was Tj talking because I don't drink chocolate milk I'm a strawberry type of girl) The nurse wheeled in my food. I had a try full of juices, jello 2 cups of water to make broth beef and chicken and ice chips. "Man this is going to be a long stay" I said out loud. I demolished that try within a matter of seconds. And it was just lunch time (12:30)
After lunch my Family and I were chilling. I sat there in deep thought. Praying and thinking, thinking and praying. I was thinking about what all I can do to help out. I wanted to make sure every single thing possible is done to help my son. I graduated medical school in 2008. The NRCMA in me kicked in. The first rule of germ mechanism is cold kills germs! I asked my cousin Justin to turn the air all the way to 60° he said "are you sure" I said " yes I'm positive. We have to keep germs to a minimal in here" put it like this the room was so cold the nurse brought blankets for my family so they wouldn't be freezing when they visited us. She also brought me 2 additional blankets, but those hospital blankets are thin.
We took a nap, when I woke up my husband was there. It was also time for dinner. My mom and sister were there. Aunt Debra, Alisha and Justin left earlier but were coming back when Aunt Debra got off of work. My sister and husband went down to the cafeteria to get something to eat. My mom ate earlier. My sister and husband came back in the room with their food. " now y'all know dang well I'm hungry and can't eat food" My husband said he forgot. The nurse brought my tray in. I inhaled all 4 juices and the jello. I drank a couple of sips of the broth. It was like putting the ramen flavor in hot water. I looked at my mom " Sheilla do you have some crackers?" My mom said she didn't but the water station in the hallway had some gram crackers. I drunk water and juice all through out the day I just needed a little something solid a cracker wouldn't hurt right? Funny thing is since I've been in the hospital, my morning sickness went away. My mom went and got some graham crackers. I'm sorry but I had to give my baby something. She came back and handed me a pack. (2 were in the pack) I ate those crackers so fast. I was actually thankul for food, like I truly said my grace and meant it. Aunt Debra, Alisha and Justin came in. It was around 7pm. Alisha had chicken and dumplings in a cup. I dont even eat chicken and dumplings I hate it never liked it as a child! I eyed her cup. "What are you eating?" I asked her. She got up and came to my right side. "chicken and dumpling soup. I'll give you some girl, I know y'all are hungry" she said. I sat up a little and took her cup. I drank enough broth to satisfy Tj. It felt good to my soul! My baby finally had something hot. That broth that I tried earlier didn't get the job done.
After the nurse came in and set up the monitor. Everyone listened to Tj kick around trying to kick the belt off his mommy's tummy. After our 30 min session, the nurse walked in with my first round of pills. I had to take 8 pills including a horse pill. I had to take 2 iron pills because I'm anemic. A prenatal vitamin. A stool softener. (The other 4, I don't remember what they were for.) She gave me a cup, I had to sit up, there was no way I was going to take all these pills upside down. I swallowed them all and almost threw up. She handed me a sprite that helped so much. What a day! After everyone left, I laid on my left side Tj and I fell asleep
