That was God!

It was Wednesday August 12, 2010. The specialist came in around 8 am. He came with a nurse. "Good morning Mrs. Andrews. I came to check you out. I know we've been doing blood work and there are no signs of infection, but I want to check your cervix." He stated. "Okay" I said blankly. I really do not like the vaginal exams, but then who does!

He moved the bed to the regular position, keep in mind I've still been in the trendelenburg position for a week now. I assumed the position, is it sad that I know these things without them telling me lol. I opened my legs catheter just all in the Drs face. At this point, I'm not self conscious about my body. I think the whole labor and delivery staff has seen my bottom half so being shy was long gone.

He had on a white latex glove. He slid three fingers in. That was so painful! He felt around as if he were digging for gold. He felt around again. I will never forget the look on his face...  You know how you see a complicated algebra problem and for the life of you, you just don't get it, you can't understand it? Well that's the look he had when he took his hand out of my vaginal canal.

"Your dilated back to a 4?" he said while looking at the nurse. The way this specialist said it was what got me. He was trying to figure out how that was possible! It was a statement yet a question all at once. See once your in labor, and your dilated that's it! Your cervix does not go back to what it was before you were in labor. Like it doesn't say "you know what girl forget labor, I changed my mind. I'll gone ahead and get back to regular size and we'll try this labor thing later on tomorrow."  Think about it, what pregnant woman have you seen be fully dilated to a 10 and close back up? They either take the baby out via c-section or tell her to push!

So back to the situation at hand, the nurse said "those prayers have been working!" The specialist said "it was something that was working" "God" I said "I told you God has us, this is apart of His plan." You already know I was on the phone in .5 seconds spreading the news. My mom got off early and came to the hospital. My Dr came in and told us we no longer had to be on a liquid diet. I almost cried. Do you know how it feels to just have straight liquid? You stay hungry all day everyday. They were so lucky I couldn't walk because, I would have jumped up and been out of that room with the quickness in somebodies line for food! My Dr is such a sweetheart. He said he had been praying for us as well and he knows the Lord is watching us. My Dr knew that I was incapable of walking so he ordered that I have leg message. He explained to me that there would be some balloons around my legs, that would cover from my thighs to my ankle. It blows out hot air and keeps my blood circulating. He explained to me that he did not want me to have blood clots of any kind. This would help out with that. What choice did I have I went with it. The next thing I know the nurses were wrapping my legs in the balloons and I was laying back watching TV.

@AmazonShae thank you again for your kind words :)
