Conjecture

- an educated guess
- based on several observations
- not all conjectures are true

Inductive Reasoning

- refers to considerations and analyses made after several situations
- patterns arrive at a conjecture

Definitions:

Acute Angle
- angle which has a measure inbetween 0° and 90°

Right Angle
- angle that measures 90°

Obtuse Angle
- angle that has a measure inbetween 90° and 180°

Complementary Angles
- two angles that have a sum of 90°

Supplementary Angles
- two angles that have a sum of 180°

Linear Pair
- pair of angles with a common side such that the union of the two other sides is a line

Adjacent Angles
- two angles that have a common side betweem them but have no interior points in common

Vertical Angles
- non-adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines

Congruent Angles
- angles that have the same measure

Perpendicular lines
- two lines that intersect and form four right angles

Angle Bisector
- divides the angle into two congruent angles

Congruent Segment
- two segments with the same measure

Collinear Points
- points lying on the same line

Coplanar Points
- points lying on the same plane

Midpoint
- a point that divides the segment into two congruent segments

Segment Bisector
- segment/line that divides the segment into two congruent segments

Equilateral
- sides are equal in length

Equiangular
- measures of the angle are equal

Regular Polygon
- polygon with congruent sides and congruent angles.

Postulate
- statement that is accepted as true without proof

Theorem
- statement that can be proven true

Corollary
- to a theorem is a theorem that follows easily from a previously proved theorem
