There was plenty of time for a washroom break, but Crim expected us back at the van in twenty minutes. The most direct route to the mausoleum and its toilet room was down a concrete path that joined the road at the top of the hill with the grave lined street below. There was an eerie glow from spotlights illuminating the front of the columbarium/chapel/crematorium about fifty yards away. The light was our beacon and destination. But Healy moaned and said he didn't think he could hold his water any longer. His kidneys were beginning to spasm. I reminded him the washroom was only a minute away and pressed on, expecting him to suck it up and follow.
I called back over my shoulder, "Don't be such a wuss."
But my words fell on deaf ears. When I looked back, he wasn't there. All but obscured by the fog, he stood thirty feet up the hill, hugging a lamp post, his pants around his thighs. I walked back towards him. Ecstasy was written all over his face while a powerful stream of urine poured onto the sidewalk. You could actually hear it hitting the cement.
"Healy!" I griped under my breath.
But it was too late. The yellow liquid was already running towards my $225 TechLoom shoes from Lululemon. I groaned in dismay and skipped over the whiz as it streamed past me, meandering down the hill. I stood there fuming while his pee stream petered out. Funny to watch, sort of, but annoying at the same time. Sometimes, my boyfriend was such a kid. Drained, finally, Healy zipped up, looking relieved. When he spotted me with my arms crossed, a sheepish grin appeared on his face. What's done was done. I continued to walk towards the mausoleum. Truth be told, mother nature was suddenly tugging at my bladder too, so I quickened my pace. Healy caught up with me.
"Sorry, hon. For what it's worth, I recited a prayer the entire time," offered the defiler of cemeteries.
"Which is?" I asked.
