Veronica's POV
"Custody of Natalie Rose Summers-Lodge is granted to her mother, Veronica Lodge." I cover a sob with my hand. A thousand weights were lifted off my shoulders and I can finally breathe again. My lawyer congratulates me and gives me a professional hug. I hug him back but all I can think about is my daughter. "Court dismissed" the Judge says and people begin to file out. "You cannot take her from me" Matt says walking up to me. "It's over Matt. Leave" I say pulling my jacket on and walking out of the court room. "Hey don't walk away from me. Veronica!" He shouts and grabs my arm. I wince in pain and try to pull out of his grip, but I can't. "Let go" I say pulling my arm again. "She is my daughter, you bitch. She needs me" he says. "She said let her go, Matt" I turn my head and see Archie standing next to me and Matt. "Back off man this is my family" he says, still holding my arm. "Not anymore. I warned you once. This time I won't be so gentle if you don't back off. Let. Her. Go" He says, his voice going deeper. Matt smirks and lets go of my arm, pain still shoots through it despite his hand being gone. "Fine. You two deserve each other" He says before walking out of the court house. Tears burn my eyes "thank you, Archie" I say. He can tell I'm crying by my voice but he still moves to see my face anyway. "Did he hurt you, Ronnie I'll-" he starts but I cut him off. "No he didn't. Well yeah but it doesn't hurt that bad" I start "I'm just really sorry" I finish, letting my voice crack and the tears fall. "No no, come here" he says pulling me into his chest. "You were scared of losing Natalie, I could've ruined the case. You did what you needed to do. You are a good mom" he says. I let out a small laugh and hug him tighter. "Whats funny?" He asks. I shrug "nothing, just you're so good" I say sniffling. "Uh thanks?" He says. I laugh "no I mean you're still you. Good Archie, I've missed him" I say. "God I'm exhausted" I groan, Archie laughs. "Well if you want I can send my dad home with my car and I can drive you home to Natalie and you can take a nap, or just relax with her" he says. I pull away and look at him, "that sounds amazing". I smile up at him and he smiles down at me and we walk out of the court house, hand in hand.

6 months later

Archie's POV
"Babe, have you seen Natalie's blanket" Veronica yells from our bed room. Yes our bedroom. I moved into the Pembrooke with Veronica and Natalie, per Natalie's request. "I have it" I yell back. She walks out "I've been parenting for almost 3 years, and you're already better than me" she whines while grabbing the blanket from me. "Well not everyone can be as wonderful as me" I say wrapping my arms around her waist. "You know this is the part where you say, 'oh no honey no one is better than you, you're wonderful' and then I thank you with a kiss, and then thank you again later tonight" she says with a mischievous grin. "So if I say that then I get thanked twice and it I don't I get thanked... how many times exactly?" I ask "zero. Zilch. Nada" she says smiling. "Oh no honey no one is better than you, you're wonderful" I say. She laughs "much better" she leans in to kiss me and I kiss her back. Just as I deepen the kiss she pulls away "what?" I ask surprised. She laughs "I said later tonight" she says as she walks away. I get up and chase after her saying "no you get back here." I run into out room and Veronica and Natalie are sitting on our bed playing with Natalie's blocks. "Archie!" Natalie yells standing up. "Come here" I say and she jumps up and jumps off the ottoman and I catch her. "Oh my god you can fly" I say "did you see that babe, she flew" I say to Veronica who is smiling at me. "Yeah of course I saw it. We've got ourselves a little supergirl huh" she says. Natalie laughs and I lift her in the air as if she was flying. Needless to say this is now one of her favorite games.

Things with Veronica and I are going great, I've never felt so strongly for someone. When it comes to Veronica and Natalie there isn't anything I wouldn't do to make them happy and safe. After I put Natalie down for her nap I walk into the living room to see Veronica on the couch watching the TV. I walk over to the couch and lift her legs, which are stretched out, and I sit down then set them on my lap. "Whats on" "do you want to have more kids?" We both say at the same time. I look at her while trying to hide my shock. "Not now obviously. But when we're married and settled in. Do you want more?" She asks, clearly dying for an answer. "Yes" I say without having to think for a moment. "Are you for real or just saying it to make me happy?" She asks. "For real" I say smiling "I love you Ronnie, and I love Natalie. And you'd be the cutest and the sexiest pregnant woman out there" I say putting my finger under her chin and pulling her in for a kiss. She kisses me back, short but sweet. "So like how many we talking?" She asks. "Uh 2 maybe" I say shrugging. "A boy and a girl. Boy possibly named Hiram after your father" I say. Her eyes widen "Good god no. Never gonna happen" she says frantically. I laugh "I was joking". She exhales and lies her head back "please don't ever scare me like that again" I laugh and rub her leg with my hand. "But for a girl I always liked the name Emily" I say. She smiles "Emily Lodge-Andrews. It's perfect" she says. "You're missing a big step though Mr." she says. "Yeah I know. We need to have sex so we can make the baby" I say jokingly with a wink. "No you idiot" she says hitting my arm. "I'm not getting knocked up unless we're married. That's not gonna happen twice" she says shaking her head. "Hmm forcing me into marriage?" I ask teasing her. "Not forcing you, you practically begged me to get back together with you 6 months ago" she says. "Oh yeah. Sure" I say leaning in to kiss her again. She laughs but kisses me anyway. She smiles into the kiss and I pull away slightly "What has you smiling so much?" I ask running my hands through her hair. She smiles at me and says "Just thinking of our adorable babies."

Forgive me, not much happened here but I just needed to set the ground work for my next idea 😈 Don't worry, you won't have to miss Matt that much, he won't be gone long ;)
