One More Time

Chapter 32

Veronica's POV
"Okay Veronica lift your shirt and we'll take a look at your baby" the doctor says. I lift my shirt and she applies the gel to my stomach. "Okay so would we like to know the sex?" She asks. I look at Archie "I really want to know" I say, hoping he'll agree. "I do too" he says holding my hand. I smile and look back up at the doctor. "We want to know" I say. She smiles and nods "Okay this is your baby's brain... everything looks great here" she says. Archie holds my hand as we watch the screen with our baby on it and he occasionally fiddles with my rings. "Alright. Time to find out the sex" she says moving the wand to the other side of my stomach. "Well it looks like you two are having a healthy baby boy!" She says. I gasp and look at Archie "I was right" I say while smiling. He laughs "you always are" he says while he kisses my forehead. "A boy" he says looking at the sonogram. I smile up at him as he looks at the sonogram and I'm absolutely ecstatic that we're having a boy. I knew he would never say this but he wanted a boy so bad, not because he doesn't want a girl but because he wants to be a father like Fred. I look back over at the sonogram and I feel tears spring to my eyes, "our little boy."

"how do you want to tell everyone" Archie asks as we walk in the house. "I don't want to think about that right now" I say walking over to him and wrapping my arms around his neck. "I can't believe it's a boy" he says while wrapping his arms around my waist. "I knew it. It felt like a boy" I say smiling. "Mother's intuition" I finish. He smiles and leans down to kiss me. I kiss him back and he walks forward until I'm sitting on the back of the couch with my legs around his waist. Suddenly I feel a small kick from inside my stomach. I gasp and pull out of the kiss, leaving Archie with a questionable look. "What?" He asks. "Give me your hand" I order, sticking my hand out. He gives me another look but puts his hand in mine. I move his hand to the spot where I felt the kick and wait a few seconds. Suddenly he kicks again "Wow he kicks hard" he says. I roll my eyes "try feeling it from the inside" I say. He shakes his head and says "I'd rather not." I laugh and pull him in for another kiss.

"Okay what about that one" Archie says pointing to an apartment. "That's a nice one, but it has 3 bedrooms" I say resting my hand on my stomach. "And?" He asks. "What if I get pregnant again or we have guests. We need at least 4" I say. He sits back "Do you want more kids?" He asks. I shrug "let's see how 2 goes. But this one wasn't planned so this could always happen again" I say pointing to my belly. He smirks and puts his hand on my bump "You're right. And I think Natalie will want a baby sister" he says. I laugh "Okay cool your jets, let me push this one out before you think of adding another one to the mix" I say. He smirks and gets back to looking at apartments. "Let's invite Jughead and Betty over for dinner. I want to tell them first" I say out of nowhere. "About the baby or the move?" He asks still looking at the computer. "Baby. We should have a place to live before we tell them" I say looking at him. He nods his head but still doesn't respond. "You okay babe?" I ask, rubbing his shoulder. He glances at me "Yeah. There's just a lot going on right now. I don't want you getting stressed, it's bad for the baby" he says. I nod, knowing that's not what's bothering him. I push it to the back of my mind and take out my phone to text Betty. Archie will tell me when he's ready.
