Chapter 33

For starters, I'm so sorry about not updating in so long! I just needed to get inspiration and to think of how I wanted to end this story. There will be 2 more chapters after this and then I'll start doing my one shots again. Hope everyone likes this!

6 months later

Veronica's POV
"You haven't started dilating yet" my doctor says after examining me. I groan and look at Archie "Our due date was 3 days ago" he says. She nods her head "I know. This happens a lot, if you don't have the baby in 5 days we will have to induce labor" she says. "Come back 2 days from now and we'll examine you again. Till then here is a list of things you can try to make labor happen" she says while handing me a pamphlet. I take it and and scan through the pages "thank you" I say. She nods and walks out of the room, leaning Archie and I. "What does it say?" He asks as he goes to grab my pants from the counter. "Yoga, hot baths, spicy food, exercise, raspberry leaf tea, or sex" I say as I look down the list. He winks at me when I say sex and I groan "We're not having sex. I'm a house, Archie" I say as I take the sheet off and slide off the table, with Archie's help of course. "Hey I love houses" he says as I pull my pants on. I put my hands on my large stomach and I look up at him "No. sex. We'll try hot foods and yoga crap but sex is the last thing I want right now" I say. He smirks "Fine. But we can always swap that out for an old fashion high school make out session" he says winking. I laugh "how is that supposed to induce labor" I ask. He narrows his eyes "who said anything about labor?"

I'm laying on the couch rubbing my stomach trying to get comfortable, which won't happen. I haven't been comfortable in 3 months, considering the fact that I'm huge it makes complete sense. I shift again but to no surprise, I'm still uncomfortable. "Ugh get out of me!" I groan angrily at my stomach. "Still uncomfortable?" Archie asks while walking into the living room. "The answer to that question has been the same for the past 3 months, so yes. I'm still very uncomfortable" I say sitting up. He walks closer to me and helps me stand up, because it would take an hour for me to do it alone. "Well I have something that will make you feel much better" he says taking my hand. I gasp "is the nursery done!" He smiles and leads me down the hall "right on time. Well a little late but he's later" he says. We stop in front of a closed door, which used to be a guest room but is now our sons bedroom, our son who still doesn't even have a name. "Okay lets go" I say putting my hand on the nob. He takes my hand, stopping me from opening the door. "What now?" I ask looking at him. He takes one of his ties out of his pocket and covers my eyes with it. "Seriously?!" I groan. He laughs and continues to tie it "Okay give me your hands" he says. I put my hands out and he takes them and I hear the door click open. He slowly leads me in the room and I squeeze his hands in anticipation "hurry" I say. He laughs "Okay. Ready?" He asks. I smile "yes. Take this stupid thing off" I say. "3. 2. 1" he says before taking the blindfold off. My eyes adjust to the brightness and I'm greeted with light blue walls. I look around the room and there's a book shelf with every book we got from the baby shower displayed on it. Along the next wall I see a beautiful white crib, that is different from the one I ordered. "The crib" I say, unable to find words to describe how I feel. "My dad made that one, if you don't like it we can-" he starts. "No. I love it" I say while running my fingers along the edge of it. I turn to face him "Archie this is amazing. Thank you" I say smiling. "You've given me everything" he starts "a family I could only dream of having with you. I'm just trying to return the favor" he says. I smile and take his face in my hands "I love you" I say. He smiles "I love you too"

"Mommy!" Natalie yells when she sees me. I smile "hi baby" I say as she comes over and hugs my legs. I rub her back "how was abuelitas house?" I ask. She smiles "it was fun. Still no brother" She pouts. "Still no brother" I say "but soon I promise" I finish and pinch her cheek. "Go wash your hands, daddy will be home with dinner any minute" I say. She skips off to the bathroom and only seconds later the front door opens. Archie walks through with 2 bags from Pops and I smile "Spicy?" I ask. He smirks "I got you a cheeseburger with spicy onion rings, and spicy curly fries. Oh and there is hot sauce on the burger" he says as he sets the bags down. I laugh "we're trying to induce labor, Archie, not a heart attack" I say. He laughs and kisses my cheek "That baby is coming out, whether he likes it or not" he says. "Daddy!" Natalie says she sees Archie. "There's my girl" he says as she runs into his arms. He lifts her off the ground and kisses her cheek. I smile and start to unpack the bags "Let's eat, you two"

"Spicy food do any good?" Archie asks as he walks back in the room. I shake my head "the baby liked it but there's no sign of him trying to make a run for it" I say. "Is she in the bath?" I ask. He nods his head and sits down next to me on the couch. "Would a foot rub help?" He asks. I smirk and lift my feet onto his lap. He smiles and starts rubbing my feet as I lay back and close my eyes. "Anything yet?" He asks. I smirk "If I'm not screaming in pain then it's not labor" I say. He chuckles a bit and continues to massage my feet. "Daddy" Natalie yells from the bathroom, signaling she's done with her bath. "I'm gonna go get in bed. I'm exhausted" I say reaching my hands out so he'll help me up. He pulls me up and quickly kisses me "okay I'll join after I get Natalie down" he says. I walk into our bedroom and he goes further down the hall. I go to the closet and grab one of Archie's V-necks to sleep in. As I start to pull my pants down I feel a pain in my lower abdomen. I groan and grab the back of the chair for stability. I stand there squeezing the chair for a good 20 seconds. I count "1...2...3...4...5...6....." in my head until I get to the next contraction. This could take hours so I can't go to the hospital till it's less than 4 minutes apart. "Natalie is asleep" Archie says walking in. "Whats wrong?" He asks rushing over to me. "I think I just had a contraction" I say. "You think?" He asks narrowing his eyes. I feel another pain in my stomach and I grab onto Archie "Yep you did. We have to get to the hospital" he says and I nod. "Grab the bag. Text my mom to come up with Natalie then let's go" I say as he slowly leads me to the couch to sit down. "Okay" he says "we're having a baby" he finishes. I smile nervously "we're having a baby!"
