David's POV

Today is back to school day and this year I'm in grade 5. I don't really think there's anything fun being at school but I have to make my parents happy. To be honest, having the thought of it makes me feel sick.

I grab my lunch and walk out the door not forget to say goodbye:

"Bye Mom! Bye Dad"

"Bye sweetie. Have a great day!" My mom replies from the kitchen making more breakfast for my siblings. I think my dad is still in the bathroom. I shrug and run out the door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I arrive at school. Alex – my best friend runs up to me:
"Hey David! How was summer?"
"It was awesome!!! Thanks. How about you"
"Oh yeah. I had the best summer holiday with my family"
We talk and talk until the bell rings. It's sad that I'm not in the same classes with Alex this year. But you know what, that's ok. We can still talk during lunch time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's now 4th period. I look at my timetable. DRAMA CLASS. Just great! I hate it. I can never remember my lines. It's embarrassing so I'm usually something at the background, like one time I was a tree. I was still terrified though.

Anyway, I walk into the class and notice a familiar face... Mrs. Clark. The moment she looked at me she was like:

"Oh no! Not that boy again"

It's funny I can see it on her face. Then I wander my eyes around the room hopefully to find any old friends. NOBODY!!! How can this get even worse? I'm still looking.... Looking for hope when I catch my eyes on a girl. She looks so cute and little. Curly hair, tanned skin, pretty face. She seems a bit shy. Maybe she's new... I think. I was about to go talk to her when Mrs. Clarks said:

"OK class. Settle down. First, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Mrs. Clark – your drama teacher this year. Now, we will one-by-one introduce ourselves. First, you" She points to a random boy who I have never met before. We each introduce ourselves until it's that beautiful girl's turn, sitting across the room. She slowly stands up:

"Hi guys. I'm Elizabeth Koshy. You can call me Liza."

What a beautiful name... I mumble underneath my breathe.

"I've just moved here from Texas and I'm really excited to make new friends"

She sits down and I keep staring at her. OMG! I hope she didn't notice.

And she didn't.... FOR REAL. That half of school year, she never talked to me or even noticed (I guess) and I didn't have the nerve to talk to her either. Mostly because she was always around her friends and  I was too scared. Ok maybe I chickened out. Just MAYBE! But was she my first crush? The first girl I secretly fell in love with. And did I tell you  how good she is at acting. Seriously, I can watch her acts all day.

Everything was (secretly) perfect until one day....
