I wandered down to the kitchen to grab a drink as my phone rang.
"Hey,Arin."
"Hey,so I know you've only been here a week, but some shit came up and Suzy and I need to go out of town for the night. Business stuff. I'm sorry. I was gonna let you know this morning but you slept in."
"It's fine. I don't mind."
"Suzy's car is there if you need to do anything. And if you want company you can always call one of the guys. I'll send you their numbers."
"Thanks,Arin. I'll see you guys in the morning. Be safe."
I sighed. This was first time since moving that I would be alone. I felt my phone buzz, knowing it was Arin. Ignoring it,I went back to my room to get some treading done while playing music. Of course,I couldn't hear the distant sound of thunder over the sound of Journey.
*3rd POV*
"Man,I feel bad leaving her alone." Arin sighed into his phone.
"I'm sure she's okay. I can go check on her if you want." Dan suggested on the other end.
"Although, this rain looks like it's gonna get bad.""Rain?"
"Yeah,it's rolling in pretty quick. Supposed to full on storm tonight."
"Shit. Dan,I need you to go to my house. I need someone there with Ellie." Arin said, starting to freak out.
"Okay, dude. Why the sudden freak out?"
"Ellie is scared of thunder."
"Oh,I'm heading there now. I got it,dude. Don't worry about it."
Their conversation ended before Danny gathered his things and headed to his friends house.
*Ellie POV*
The hours pasted without my knowledge. It felt good to be emerged in a book and not my thoughts for a while. Unfortunately,I had finished the book and was just laying in bed now. The rain had finally started and I just hoped that was all. Ever since I was little, thunder had scared me to death. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't alone.
Luck wasn't with me as heard the rumbles in the distance, getting closer by the second. The rain grew heavier and the sky darker. The rumbles louder. I curled into myself, shaking. Whimpers fell from me as the sounds just got louder and louder. My eyes were shit as I buried myself under a blanket.
I almost screamed when the doorbell rang into the silent house. Trembling,I slowly made my way to the door only to find Danny already inside, hanging his coat.
A loud clap of thunder caused me to softly cry out and fall to the floor, gaining Dan attention.
"Ellie!" He ran over, gently hugging me.
"Arin called. He asked me to come over when he heard of the storm. He didn't want you be alone."
I said nothing as I whimpered again. Danny said nothing more, taking me into his arms before carrying me back to my room. He wrapped my blanket around me once more then laid us down before placing another blanket on both of us. Soft spoken, soothing words tumbled from his lips as he pulled me to him, holding me.
It didn't take more than a mintue for me to find comfort there in his embrace. He softly sang, rubbing my back.
I don't know how much time passed out what time in the day it was before the thunder and rain calmed. Danny never moved from my side. I don't remember when I fell asleep. I all I remember was feeling Dannys lip against my head then my eyelids dropping.
