Some time during the night, the storm started again, jolting me from my slumber. I whimpered, reaching out for something, anything. When my fingers met only air, I curled my arms around myself. My room felt small. Needing out,I wrapped a blanket around me,slowly heading downstairs to the open living room so I didn't feel suffocated. A cry left me as thunder shook the house making me stop in the hall.

"Ellie?"

I felt arms pick me up before carrying me to the living room. Dan sat us on the couch, letting me hold onto him.

"It's okay,I'm here."

Once again,I relaxed a bit at the sound of his voice and the comfort of his hand rubbing my back.

"Thank you for being here." I spoke softly for the first time.

"You don't have to thank me. You wanna watch Game of Thrones with me?"

I nodded, not turning down on of my favorite shows, before adjusting my position so I could see.

We made it through three episodes before the sunlight started to creep into the house. Looking at the clock,it was nearly 7 in the morning. I hadn't even noticed when the storm had finally stopped for good.

"Shit,is it really seven already?"

"Looks like it. Do you have to go?" I muttered, not really wanting him to for some reason.

"Nah,I can stay. I'm not needed at the office for anything today and we're not working on any NSP stuff either."

We smiled at each other before watching one more episode. After that,Dan paused the show and turned to me.

"You wanna go get breakfast?"

"Oh,um,sure. Let me changed first."

I quickly ran up to my room and changed before slapping on some eyeliner and slipping my glasses on,not wanting to deal with contacts.

"I'm ready." I said once I was back downstairs.

Danny smiled before we headed out to the car. The drive was quiet, but not uncomfortable. It wasn't long before we were walking inside of whatever place Danny picked. We sat at a booth, looking over menus before my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey,just calling to check on you. I heard that storm got pretty bad."

"It was fine,Suzy. Danny came over and stayed with me."

"Oh?"

I could hear the smile.

"Yeah,I fell asleep for a while then we watched Game of Thrones and now we're getting breakfast."

"Well,I'll leave you to your date. Bye!"

She hung up before I could protest that it wasn't a date. I sighed, putting my phone back in my pocket before someone came over to get our order.

"So,Ellie..."

"Yeah?"

"I don't really know anything about you. And seeing how you're Arins best friend,I feel like we should be friends too."

" Well, what do you want to know?"

"Whatever you want to tell me."

I puffed my checks for a moment before getting into my life story.

"Okay, well. My name is Eleanor Rose Allen. I'm 28,only child. I grew up with Arin. I like video games, music, and drawing. My favorite color is blue. I'm pretty lame. I don't really do much anymore. Now that my parents are gone and since I spent the last few years of my life taking care of them,I just feel lost."

"I'm sorry, Ellie. I don't know what's that like."

"It's fine. It's just life. Happens to everyone sooner or later."

"So,what do you do for work?"

"Nothing right now. I used help run my mom's bakery, but I sold it when she passed and I decided to move here. Other than that,I get a little income from YouTube for animations that I've done. Not that I'm trying to be that girl but I don't really need to work with the sale from the bakery and the inheritance I got. I'm just not ready to get back to doing anything yet."

"I get it. There's nothing wrong with that." He smiled.

We made some more small talk as we ate before going back to the house to continue with Game of Thrones. I had a feeling it was going to become a regular thing now.
