Chap 16

Ellie's POV

I had to hide from Danny when he was over at Arin and Suzy's. I hadn't planned on being there but I was a little behind. I came out once Dan left.

"Oh God,what if he doesn't like this?"

"It's fine. It's Dan. He might be acting grumpy but I know he loves this." Suzy smiled.

"Anyway,time to get you ready. We probably don't have much time."

I nodded before running up to Suzy's closet. She picked out a floor length black dress with an asymmetrical hem and short sleeves paired with some cute strapped wedges. She did a light layer of foundation on my face as well as some winged liner before putting my hair in a braided messy bun. Grabbing my bag I was quickly out of the door.

I let out a sigh of relief when I noticed Dan wasn't at the restaurant yet. It wasn't too fancy but it was a nice place. I was politely greeted once I walked in.

"Hello,I have a reservation for two under the name Ellie."

"Right this way,you're table just got set up."

"Thank you. Also,my guest doesn't know about this but he'll be here shorty. Tall, mass of hair. Should be in a blue flannel and leather jacket."

"Ill escort him once he arrives." He smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled back before sitting down.

The minutes ticked by slowly as I waited.

What if this was stupid? What if he didn't come? Would I even be able to explain everything to him if he did show? I still didn't know how to tell him. Explain that he's one of the best things to ever happen to my life and I can't live without him. Like he's my sunshine fighting off the rain clouds. He's the first person to make me feel truly alright since the death of my parents. How I do I explain that I love him to the sun and back?

I sighed. I wrote this all out in case I chickened out and couldn't say the words. I hoped it wouldn't come to that.

A few moments later I saw him. He looked wonderful. He had the biggest smile on his face once his eyes landed on me as I stood. I saw him thank the man who walked off as Dan headed to me before embracing me.

"You look stunning." He said letting go.

"Thanks."

We made small talk as we ordered and waited for our food.

"So..." Dan stared after we were almost done eating.

Oh God. It was now or never.

"I guess I can't really put it off too much longer,now can I? I wanna start by saying I'm sorry for ignoring you. I...I was hurt. I watched the video of you and Arin talking about a girl and it hurt."

"Why? The girl I was talking about...well..."

Danny didn't really know how to say it either.

"Look,Danny. It hurt because I know it wasn't me. I...God this is so hard to say and it shouldn't be."

"Ellie,I like you,okay? And I think I know that you're trying to say you like me too. This shouldn't be hard but I don't want to fuck it up with you."

"Exactly! I wanted this to be perfect and I can't even find the words to say."

"We don't need words." He smiled before leaning over and pressing his lips to mine for a breif moment.

He pulled away and we both smiled. He was right. We didn't need to say anything. He sat back and grabbed my hand not letting go as we finished just smiling at each other.

It wasnt long before we left,hesitating by our vehicles. Danny hugged me close kissing my head before we both started laughing.

"We're both stupid."

"Yeah we are."

"I'm really glad you feel the same way as I do,Ellie. I don't ever shut up about you. I'm always thinking of you. I never want to leave your side."

"Do you wanna come over?"

"Yeah. I'll meet you there." He said tilting my chin up to kiss me again.

"I can't wait." I smiled.
