Chapter 7~ Kukai and Utau's Date Part 2

Utau nervously glanced at her phone for the hundredth time. Where are you guys? Utau and Kukai were strolling through a cute party decoration store. Kukai was staring at the aisle with pictures of couples with their fingers entwined. He looked up and caught a glimpse of Utau staring intensely at her phone.

“Hey, why are you staring at that?” Kukai spoke up.

Utau jumped a little. “Err…*nervous laugh* umm…I was just…texting…uhh…Amu! Yea, Amu, about the…umm…dance and she said…err…the theme should uhh…be…umm…Chocolate in Paris?” Utau nervously conjured up, in hope of Kukai buying it.

Kukai stared at her for a moment. “That’s a great idea! It would be awesome!” Utau blushed slightly, after remembering she had said Amu made the idea. Why did you have to say Amu’s name? Damn it Utau! “We could have a chocolate fountain with strawberries to dip it. Oh! How about Hershey’s Kisses? Yea that would be great!” continued Kukai. Utau’s phone gave a beep.

We’re here! We can see you through the window of that cute store. We’ll keep watch don’t worry. Everything’s going to be fine! :)

Utau gave a sigh of relief. She continued to pick out some decorations with the help of Kukai. He carried all the bags with an annoyed expression. No male would want to ever go shopping. Utau giggled at the state Kukai was in as they made their way towards a small ramen shop after a long trip to the shops. They stood on the escalator, which seemed to take longer than usual to climb up.

“You okay, Kukai? Is it too heavy?” Utau asked innocently.

“N-n-no! Of course not! It’s pretty light actually, I mean because I’m really strong,” replied Kukai and then winking at her.

Utau blushed a little and said, “Well that’s good. We still have to visit about 8 more shops, each where I have to get some things.”

Kukai sighed. “Just kidding, this is it. We’re eating ramen anyways,” smiled Utau genuinely. Kukai stared at her and blushed a slight pink.

“Umm..hey. You wanna have a ramen eating contest?” Kukai asked sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Utau stared at him and blushed a little. She turned her gaze towards the ramen shop and replied, “Yea, I don’t see why not. There’s no harm in beating a loser like you.” Utau grinned.

“Oh really? Says the loser herself,” grinned Kukai and poked his tongue out.

“Game on!” Utau demanded.

They raced towards the ramen shop and ordered large bowls. They slurped on their noodles and soup giving then glances and stares from the surrounding crowd and passers. The waiter had a worrying expression on when they were going to stop. After about 9 bowls, Kukai admitted defeat. Utau finished her bowl and grinned in triumph.

“Yes! Who’s the loser now, loser?” grinned Utau.

Kukai feigned a hurt expression, but then gave a smile. “You did awesome! Never met a girl like you before. You are definitely one of a kind.”

Utau blushed at his comment and stared at the ground. “I’m…gonna go to the bathroom for a bit.” She quickly stood up and made her way towards the bathroom.

“Let’s sit at this table and hide our faces behind the menu,” Nagihiko told the three. They nodded and made their way to a table within hearing distance of the pair. As soon as they sat down, all they could hear were slurping.
