Jayce Angevin, a fair man of 23, was born on the Summer Solstice, June 21, 1995. He was a fairly athletic man, about 6'5", and was surprisingly light. He lived in a small town, one thats name has faded and given into the cruel hand of time, now simply know as Village of Skulls, for....er....obvious reasons. The towns true name cannot be disclosed, so we shall call it Dawnridge. Back to Jayce. He was a great leader, and had all his truths and ideals together as one. He had a runner's build and unruly dirty blonde hair. Though only those close to him knew this, he was beyond gifted academically. He skipped multiple grades and was accepted to many colleges, including Harvard. According to multiple tests he was a certified genius, and was fairly shy about it.
Jayce rarely let people close to him. He was an only child, and the only person he had was his fiance, Ambrosia Myrrine. She was a greek immigrant, coming to the United States seeking refuge from the greek civil war. They met at the local doctor's office, both going for appointments. Not very romantic, but it doesn't always need to be. He was planning to run his first marathon soon, and he was training for it vigorously. Sometimes he even brought his yellow lab, Tanner, along with him for a run. It was always fun.
Jayce had just gotten home from a run with Tanner. He was dripping with sweat, but he felt exhilarated. He always felt this way after a run.
"Hey honey!" He heard Ambrosia yell from the kitchen, enticing smells coming from that direction.
"Hi! Something smells good!" Jayce yelled back.
"Spiced feta with watermelon salsa! An old recipe from my family back in Greece!" She replied.
"Well I can't wait to try it!" Jayce really was excited. He loved his fiance's cooking. It was always exotic and delicious. He went and took a shower, dried himself off, and went to the kitchen to see his fiance. She always helped him feel more relaxed after a run. The knots in his muscles seemed to untie themselves faster near her, without her really doing anything. He reached the kitchen and gave her a peck on the cheek.
"I love you." He murmured in his future wife's ear. He still needed a ring. They were supposed to get married before his first marathon. He would have to scour for a ring, since there really aren't any jewelers in this small town of Dawnridge. He would have to drive out of town to Goldcrest. He had a vision for the ring. A beautiful platinum colored ring with small details designing a rose on each side. The jewel would be diamond, her birthstone, shaped flawlessly into a perfect oval. He knew it would be expensive, but she deserved it, any fool could see that. She whipped his thoughts back to the present.
"Why don't you go sit down? Dinner is almost ready." She said.
"Of course! I wouldn't want to miss this meal for anything!" He declared. He really wouldn't. He eagerly went to set the table and sat down. About a minute later Ambrosia came into the dining room with two plates of spiced feta with watermelon salsa. They both started eating animatedly while making small talk about work and such. After they finished it was about seven o'clock, so they turned the lights off and went to bed, with Tanner taking up most of the bed all by himself.
The next day was a pretty average day, they both get up around six thirty, go to work, get home around six o'clock, Jayce goes for a run while Ambrosia starts to prepare dinner. Jayce gets home at around six thirty, he showers, they eat dinner, and go to sleep. The day after the same. The days seemed to go by monotonously.
"Just two more weeks until the wedding and marathon." Jayce thought. He had been training vigorously and had instead of running today sneaked out of town in his Cadillac, without Ambrosia knowing, to snag a ring. He drove for about 30 miles when he finally came into Goldcrest. He stopped by the jewelers and gave them the description of the ring he had envisioned. They said it would be out in 2 days. So he hopped back in the car, went out for a short run, and drove home. He arrived on time and Ambrosia expected nothing thank god. He wanted the ring to be a surprise.
