One More Light (Severus Snape's Love Story)

Chapter 8

Sam turned to her behind. Severus was still standing on the same spot in front of the window in her bedroom. She felt a bit awkward for having him in her bedroom while she was having an argument with her best friend who apparently not approved this relationship she wished to keep.

She held her tongue, didn't want to open the conversation. But then she followed his eyes who were at her belly. She looked down, and understood that unlike few weeks ago when he last came, her belly was prominently bigger and rounder. Her hand was immediately rubbing her belly and she could feel movement inside.

Her mind completely off from the awkwardness that she chuckled and looked at the man she loved, "it's moving," she told him.

Severus' feet was not moving, as if he was nailed down on that spot, but when he saw her smiled widely to him and saying, "Our baby is moving, Severus," he smiled as well and moved to her immediately. He placed his hand to her belly replacing her hand and felt the movement, more like a kicking.

"Indeed," he said with a smile to her. 

Sam looked up to him, with love in her eyes, that Severus moved closer and kissed her lips immediately. He missed her. He knew that though it was all forgotten when he found her with Cedric Diggory, the boy that he thought would be more a fair pair for her than him. 

However, his baby was like telling both of him and her, that they shouldn't worry about Cedric. For that moment, Severus felt that he was belong. A small family of him, Sam and their unborn child.

"What to name him?" She asked when they were lying on her bed, his hand was still rubbing her belly while spooning her from behind.

"Him?" He asked, not knowing whether she knew the baby sex already.

"I don't know yet. But I want a boy," she chuckled again, "just like his father."

He huffed, "You don't want that."

"And why won't I?" She asked, turning her head to him. "Severus, I want him to be just like you. Not a potion professor, or potion master, or even a former death eater. I want him to be you. A man who has a big heart, that willing to sacrifice everything for what he believes that he must do. So focus, so persistent, and so kind, so selfless," she continues in slow pace, every word made him think of himself, "and most of all, because you love me."

She smiled and turned her body to him so that they were facing each other.

Her eyes sparked her cheekiness and her youth when she emphasized, "I know you love me." She then kissed him gently at first, but when he deepened the kiss, carried away to the warm feeling rose inside him, their innocent kiss changed into a passionate love making. 

Severus promised to himself that night, that he would follow Lucius' advice for once. It was the first time in his life that he felt belong and he had more reasons to survive than his own reasons to sacrifice.

This former student of hers, had crawled inside his skin, making her home, changing him slowly, with her innocence of a child. Looking at her sleeping peacefully in his arms, while her hand protectively on her belly, he was more determined than ever that he must go to Lucius and find another way. He couldn't die. He just couldn't leave her alone and most of all, he wanted so badly to spend the rest of his life to be with her. He wanted his happy ending.
