5 years later
In busy street, Sam walked by herself to the nearby coffee shop from her office. She looked beautiful in her sky blue blouse and black pencil skirt with her ankle high brown boots. She wore navy plaid scarf around her neck, as the wind got cold due to the winter coming.
She reached there and opened the white entrance door that made a bell sound. She smiled to the waitress that greeted her, then she looked around and found the blond hair man sitting elegantly in the corner table.
He looked at her and waved his hand excitedly. She smiled widely and speedwalked to the table. She slumped to the chair across him and took out her scarf and placed it in her medium sized bag.
"Have you ordered?" She asked while reading the menu.
"Hmmm... just ordered coffee for both of us." He turned the pages again, browsing. "What's good?"
"Uhmm.. the chicken sandwich is nice."
They then placed order before starting to chat again.
"So, what's new?" She asked.
He smiled sweetly, "Not so good with my father."
She made a sad face and said, "I'm so sorry."
"You know him," he smiled again, "He actually let it go quite sometime already. But he started to nag me again after I told him that Oliver and Hermione are getting married."
"What?"
"Yeah," he laughed, "finally, right?"
"Is that why you're in the city?" He nodded.
"Before I forgot," she gave him her keys.
They were her spare apartment keys so he could directly went there after lunch.
"You keep in touch with anyone?"
"Not really. I mean, after the war, and my memory loss accident, I only remember you somehow. So..." she played with the utensils on the table, "I made lots of new friends though."
"Yeah, I got that."
She laughed.
"Well, Mr. Diggory, I read gossip about you," she smirked, teasing him, "different witch every party, maybe you need to introduce one of them to your father."
He laughed, "those for shows only. You know that. I never been with anyone after you."
"Ha! You expect me to believe that?"
"It's true. Cross my heart."
They laughed out together before he took a few seconds in silence before his hand lifted and landed on her left wrist and he squeezed it gently, "I really miss this, Sam. I mean, the talking, the laughing and our friendship," he frowned, "I'm not saying that I don't treasure our time when we are more than friends. I do." He then smiled, "But I definitely do not miss the fighting, the yelling, the crying and also the parade of men you were showing to make me angry."
She laughed again but then in serious manner she said, "Me too, Cedric. I really treasure this, our friendship."
It was late in evening that she finally could turned off her PC and ready to leave work.
"Join our drinks tonight?" Her male colleague who stood by her office door asked.
She shook her head while saying politely, "sorry. It's too late anyway."
"Aww.. come on, it's Friday night and only past 9pm." He insisted.
She said, "My boyfriend is in town. So, maybe next time."
"Oh," Bran responded surprised, "I didn't know you're in relationship."
"I am," she said while taking all her things and walked passed him, "see you tomorrow."
She walked fast escaping from him. She lived nearby, so after twenty minutes walk, she reached her apartment.
She greeted the receptionist as usual and after taking the lift to her floor, she walked to her door and used her keys to open it.
"Ced!" She called, while putting down her things.
"Here!" He shouted from her room.
He was lounging comfortably on her bed in the cover while watching a movie with light off.
She went to bathroom for a quick shower before enter the bedroom and sat next to him and snuggled to him. He extended his arm onto her shoulder and pulled her closer.
"Tired?"
"Hmm.." she nodded.
"You and your muggle job. Designer you said?"
"Hmm..."
He looked at the clock on the wall and he frowned when he saw it was almost 11pm.
"You go back everyday at this time?"
"Not everyday," she said while grabing the remote to turn the volume lower, "Next week should be better."
"Have you eaten dinner?"
She laid on his chest that she could hear his heart beating and nodded answering. It only took her few seconds before Cedric could hear her soft snoring.
He smiled looking at her while rubbing her arm. He continued watching the muggle movie while occassionally made sure she was comfortable.
It was like an hour later that the door bell rang persistently. Cedric placed Sam's head to the pillow and made sure she was comfortably sleeping and covered when he walked to the door.
He opened it and saw there were two young men standing there and one of them carried a dozen of beer cans.
"May I help you?"
"Ah, you must be the boyfriend."
That statement earned an eyebrow raised.
"I'm Bran and this is Matt, we are both Sam's colleagues. We actually had a drinking party and she said she couldn't come because her boyfriend is in town."
"Yeah, so we thought, we just stop by and drop this." Matt said while lifting the beer higher.
"Uhmm... it's late." Cedric said. "And Sam is asleep. So, I'm sorry that I don't let you guys in."
"Sure," Bran said with fake smile, "totally understand."
Matt then passed the beer and said, "maybe next time, alright?"
"Yeah, thanks. See you." Cedric said while closing the door.
He placed the beer on the kitchen counter and mumbled, "boyfriend." While walking back to the bedroom.
He slid into the cover and she automatically snuggled to him while softly she whispered, "Severus."
He was stunned and looked at her sleeping face. He sighed and softly he kissed her forehead before he closed his eyes.
