One More Light (Severus Snape's Love Story)

Chapter 29

Sam sorted out her work things in the guestroom that Severus turned to her workplace. Drawings of different dresses were scattered on the floor and she turned on her PC that she placed on an old antique oak desk. She then used her wand to organize her things.

She wasn't used to do mundane things with magic. As a muggleborn, she liked to do daily chores without it. However, she saw that Severus was always integrate his life with magic. Though he was not pure blood, she knew that he would prefer for it. So she tried to follow.

However, she couldn't leave muggle technology. After all, she chose to live like muggles after the war ended and she had enjoyed it so many years.

She was busy working using her PC when he stood by the door and said, "I'll drop Junior to the Malfoys in the morning and pick him up in the evening. You can focus on your work."

She looked up at him and sadly said, "I only have two weeks to handover my job so I will be very busy."

"Harry said that you often come home very late. Let me pick you up everday."

She smiled, "I'm not a kid, I can come home myself."

He walked to her and he pulled her to him and said, "I know. But I want to. Can I?"

She looked at him and felt as if he was hiding something. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing. I just want to pick up my wife from work."

She kissed his lips, "alright. You can pick me up every 8pm. But how about Junior?"

"I'll get Dobby to come for few hours. He would love to."

She nodded, "you go to sleep first. I still have things to do."

He sighed and left.

She worked until almost midnight and walked to their bedroom. She saw him asleep and felt a bit down that she couldn't join listening him reading the bedtime story to Junior.

She saw his sleeping face and kissed his forehead gently before she laid down and slept next to him.

The next day, Severus Snape taught his class in the morning then during the break he walked into the staff room to be told by McGonagall that students were gossiping about him.

"Funny how students are saying, how can a Slytherin married a Hufflepuff, one said."

Pomona laughed and said, "children... but I heard some students said that they were happy to see you, Severus with Sam. They said you were so serious and gloomy. But Sam was so cheerful. She often smiled."

"Anyway, we are so happy that you both finally get back together," they said.

After he taught his last class, he talked to Dobby and used floo network to go to Malfoys to pick up Junior. They came home and when the time came, Dobby was there already. He then changed out from his robes and wear muggle clothing that he appeared like a school professor.

Meanwhile, Sam had a private conversation with her boss due to her sudden resignation.

"You were married?"

"Actually we are still married, legally. But we did separate many years ago. Now, since we get back together, I can't work too long hours. Beside him, I also need to consider our son as well. I'm so sorry."

Her boss frowned and said, " Wow. You looked so young. I never expected you are married and have a child already. But I understand. However to find a replacement that fast is not easy. How about we cut down your hours or you can work from home? Just occasionally you need to come to office. How about that?"
