"Yoru I really want to win..." Mae pouted at Yoru
"Ew she looks like a deceased monkey." Jun said
Yoru only smiled, trying not to react to the genie's words.
"Well, you are good at everything. You'll win for sure." Yoru simply said as she wrote something on her notebook
"You're not entering right?" Mae asked, eyes full of hope
"Still thinking about it." She replied
"Don't! You have stage fright right?" Mae pointed out
"You don't have to be so harsh." Seungkwan said inside the amulet
"It ain't bad to try something new." Yoru looked out the window, thinking.
"But-"
"You can just say that you don't want me to join, I'm an easy person to talk to." The black haired girl smiled
"Finally you got me!" Mae said in relief
"How mean..." Chan said
"I'm gonna win for sure! Thanks Yoru!" Mae walked away to boast to her friends about attending the competition
"I thought you already agreed on this..." Jeonghan pouted, disappointed at the girl
Yoru smiled, she shrugged. "I want people to be happy..."
"But-"
"Mae likes to sing, but I admit that she uses her voice a little too... wrong..." Yoru changed the topic
"I don't get it." Jeonghan confusingly said
"She has a nice voice, I mean its okay to hear it every once in a while but..."
"Ohhhh." Jeonghan nodded, understanding Yoru's point.
"Not to be rude, but you'll say the same once you've heard it." Yoru said
"Hey Yoru, I'm singing Chandelier by Sia. Wanna hear it?" Mae ran back to Yoru, a big smile on her face.
Not wanting to be rude, Yoru nodded with a smile.
Mae started singing and the members could only say...
"Yoru was right." Jihoon cringed
Once the girl finished, Yoru smiled and showed a thumbs up.
"You'll do great."
"I know." Mae smiled and went to her friends right after.
"I feel bad for her..." Seungcheol shook his head.
"Why join with... that voice?" Seokmin said
"Guys, don't be mean..." Yoru said
The teacher wasn't there, so everyone was just talking, gossiping, or just simply doing the things they would usually do when the teacher isn't around.
Yoru used her arms as her pillow while looking outside, admiring the things from trees to the passing cars.
"I wonder what it would be like to live here..."
Yoru looked down to look at the amulet, which was dangling on her neck and resting on her chest. She heard Minghao's gentle whisper.
"Me too..." Wonwoo joined
Yoru sighed, she wished she could do something to make them happy.
"Hey Yoru..." Jeonghan called
He was hiding behind the stack of books on Yoru's table, facing the girl while sitting down on her desk.
"Hm?" Yoru smiled
"I heard Mae waned to win for her parents..." he said
Right, Mae was popular, rich, beautiful. She had everything she ever needed and everything she ever wanted.
But never her parent's attention...
So instead of gaining something the positive way to earn her parent's attention, she did the opposite and tried to do everything to get them to look at their daughter.
So Yoru smiled, looking outside.
"I wish that Mae would win the contest..." Yoru said to Jeonghan, not looking at him.
"But Yoru, that's cheating..." Jeonghan said
"Just give her the will to try her best and not cheat, she's just using her voice wrong. I'm sure she'll sound great once she'll get the hang of it..." Yoru explained, still looking outside
"Seriously how kind can you get?" Jeonghan chuckled
"Your wish, will be granted..."
