Shizuka's pov Soryu said that Eisuke loves me too. I wonder if thats true. But if he really does then....we could get together. I mean he is already my partner in crime but I want more than that. I want to be his girlfriend. I might sound selfish, but now I want him all to myself, forever. There is no denying it. Maybe I should try telling him on his birthday...or maybe not. Ugh...I have never been so confused before!!
Eisuke's pov It is only a week left until my birthday. I really don't care. I don't understand why people care about birthdays so much. Honestly they come every year and are like any other day....but shizuka likes to make a big fuss about birthdays...that is only the reason I celebrate my birthday. I love that big bright smile on her face when she is happy. I am willing to do absolutely anything for that smile. She is the only person who knows me and accepts me for who I am. I don't have to be my fake plastic self in front of her. I can tell her anything and I trust her explicitly. I am in love with her. I want her to be mine. I want to tell this to her. I don't care what her response is, I won't give up. But I really am curious. Does she feel the same way about me too? Even before, she got jealous and took me away from those girls. She is so cute. I am going to ask her out on my birthday. If she says yes, that will be the best gift I will ever receive in my life... I am walking in the school corridor. I spot Shizuka over there. I am about to call out to her but.... For some reason that principal's son Frank Ackerson is talking to her. And to make matters worse he is holding her hand. I silently go near them, making sure that they don't notice me and listen to their conversation. Frank: Shizuka, the thing is....I like you.....really, why don't you give it a second thought? Shizuka: I am really sorry, but I don't feel the same way. Frank: Do you have someone else in your life? Shizuka: umm....thats...... Frank: Is it Ichinomiya? ( he asked about me......I need to know what she says) Shizuka: ..... Frank: Should I take that silence as yes? Shizuka: No!.. I mean not exactly...but..... Frank: You seriously love him? He is a total playboy, not to mention the ultimate egoist, jerk and extremely arrogant if you ask me. I don't understand why you always hang out with him? You aren't like those other girls who hover over him, then why? Shizuka: Hey! Thats enough. What made you think that you could talk about Eisuke like that! You don't know anything about him! Frank: Why are you defending him? Shizuka: Because he is my b-.........bestfriend! Frank: well I guess I couldn't convince you....but I won't give up. I will compete Ichinomiya for you. Until then, can we be friends? He holds out his hand. Shizuka: *sigh* okay...I guess. They shake hands. Why?! There is no need to be friends with that daddy's boy Frank. He doesn't deserve a friend like you! I don't like shizuka near him. She is such an airhead. I am so irritated that as soon as he leaves I stride over to shizuka and grab her arm from behind. Shizuka: Hey! What the hell....oh. She relaxes as soon as she sees me and a smile comes to her face. Eisuke: Why were you talking to that idiot? Shizuka: You were listening?! Eisuke: No ofcourse not. I just got here when he was leaving. I hate to lie to her but in this case...it is for the best. Shizuka: oh....okay. So..whats up? She asks brightly. That cheerful face again. She has no idea how possesive and irritated I feel right now. I supress my urge to pin her to the wall nearby and kiss her. How does she manage to get the best of me and not even notice it. She is going to pay for it. Eisuke: Come with me. Shizuka: Huh? Where? Eisuke: The usual place. Me and her have a secret place in the forest nearby our highschool. Shizuka: Right now? Is something the matter? Eisuke: No. I just felt like going with you. Shizuka: O-okay... She is blushing. How cute. All my anxiety from before vanishes on seeing her like that. I am looking forward to my birthday now....and I want her to say yes. She did not deny when Ackerson asked her if she loved me..... When we reach our secret hideout shizuka sits on a rock and beckons me over. I sit besides her. And for a long time none of us talk. Shizuka is the one to break the silence. Shizuka: I really love this place. I feel so relaxed every time I am here. Eisuke: Yes. Shizuka? Shizuka: hmm? Eisuke: The other day, I told you that I want some thing from you on my birthday.... Will you give it to me? Shizuka: Ofcourse, I mean I will try my level best. Infact, I want to do one more important thing on your birthday. Eisuke: What is it? Shizuka: you will find out on your birthday. Eisuke: hmph. Fine. Shizuka: hehe. Eisuke: Are you dumb? Why are you laughing all of a sudden. Shizuka: you look so cute when you are all grumpy. Eisuke: Shut up. Shizuka: hahaha. Eisuke: You are the only one who gets to see me this vulnerable. Shizuka: Really? Eisuke: No. Shizuka: Eisuke!! Eisuke: That was a payback for laughing. Shizuka: You are soo mean. Eisuke: You started it. We both banter and before long its evening. I not bored even for a second when I am with her. Shizuka: It is getting late. We must go back. Eisuke: I guess you are right. We go back to the school hostel.
After a series of uneventful days...it is finally my bithday.
