We walked down the isle, hand in hand. Everyone was letting their butterflies go as we walked down the isle. It was a beautiful ceremony. I still can't believe I married my best friend. I was now Summer Dolan. We were now getting crammed into a small room, so that the backyard could get transformed into a reception. So, now we were just sitting. Someone came in a little while ago saying that the backyard was almost done. I was still staring at my ring.
"What are you thinking"
"That this is just a dream and that I am going to wake up soon"
"Well this isn't a dream" Ethan said and kissed me.
I giggled and looked down.
Ethan gently grabbed my chin and made me look at him.
"I love you"
"I love you too."
The door then swung open and Cherry walked in.
"Come on the backyard is ready time for you guys to shine" She smiled brightly. Ethan grabbed my hand and pulled me up. We walked to the back door and waited for Gray and Cherry to walk out. Once the song "Clarity" by Zedd came on they went out doing a weird little dance. It was really funny and I tried not to laugh. Once Ethan's and I's name were announced he looked me and smiled and I did the same thing. He grasped my hand and we walked out holding up our inner locked hands. I heard a bunch of whoops and hollers. I giggled, then took in the venue. There were lights strung from the trees, the isle was still enrolled and ended at the base of a wooden dance floor. On the sides of it were two long tables. In front, there was our table, the placement was for only bridesmaid, best man, and then finally the bride and groom. We walked to our table and Ethan pulled out my chair. I smiled at him and thanked him. Once we sat down, waiters and waitresses came out with silver platters. They set down ours first. I had gotten spaghetti with garlic bread. I had finished my food and it was time for the champagne raise, well in my case, sparkling grape juice raise. Both, Cherry and Gray had stood up and tapped a fork against the glass. Cherry was the first to speak.
"Summer, I have known you for a short while, but you already mean so much to me. You are my best friend. I can call you if I need someone to talk to or if I need someone to beat up. You are the strongest person I know, you have been put through so much shit, but no of that matters because look at who your with" She smiles brightly.
"You are with the love of your life. I am so thankful to have someone like you in my life." she finishes. I feel tears brimming my eyes as I quickly get up out of my seat and rush to her, pulling her in a tight embrace. I let her go and walk back to my seat. Grayson took the microphone and started.
"E, we have literally together since the womb. You will always be my best friend. We have good times and great times. Yeah, I get mad a lot, but I am so happy that you have found the love of your life." Gray finished. Ethan stood up and hugged him while thanking him. They finished up and Ethan grabbed my hand while raising his glass.
"Here's to a new life"
"And to a new future" I smiled clinking our glasses together. I sipped on my drink. The announcer asked for everyone to get off the dance floor, it was time for the first dance between the bride and groom. Ethan stood up and offered me his hand.
"My lady" He bowed.
I chuckled and curtsied. 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran began to play. Ethan placed his hands on my waist and pulled me close. It was funny, for I was still sixteen, turning seventeen in a couple of months and he was seventeen, turning eighteen. Wow, our life was just starting together. I wouldn't want to start it any other way. With any other person.
