Chapter 21

My eyes fluttered open and I was greeted with the pack doctors ceiling. My eyes scanned my surroundings as I tried to sit up and miserably failed. There was an overwhelming pain in my abdomen area. I winched and pushed myself against the hospital bed. I then realized it wasn't that pain that was keeping me put it was a head with gorgeous light brown hair, ruffled and teased as though it had hands run through it many times. I smiled as I realized it was Stephen. I also noticed another figure in a chair about 3 seats down. Ethan. I was confused as to how he was still living. I did throw him into a wall after all. I then saw the bruises surrounding his eyes and jaw. I ran my hands through Stephens hair until he started to stir. He shifted his head to where he was looking at me. His eyes opened and I was met with his blue/green eyes. I gave him a cheeky smile before he realized I was awake. He shot up and ran out of the room. I was sad to see him go but, I figured he went to get the pack doctor. The slamming of the door must've woken up Ethan because he was stirring awake. I waited till he opened his eyes. They fluttered open and stared back at me. I gave him the dirtiest look I could muster along with a nasty glare. He looked truly hurt. I smiled to myself in satisfaction.
"Why are you here Ethan." I commanded my voice strong.
"I wanted to see if you were okay I don't know what happened to me when I was with Rosalie she had me under some kind of compulsion. I never meant to hurt you in any way, i'm so sorry Summer." He pleaded.
I looked at him in surprise but, Rosalie was now dead and there was nothing I could do.
"I have Stephan now Ethan and i'm way more happier then I ever was with you." I seethed through my gritted teeth. He made a look of hurt, sadness, and another look I couldn't make out.
"I Summer of the blood moon pack reject you Ethan Dolan as my m-" I was cut off by Ethan's hand covering my mouth. His eyes looked at me pleadingly. I look at him confused.
"Give me a month, if you cannot stand me after one month you can reject me." He said. I took my time thinking over the offer.
"Fine one month that is all you get, if I find out that you mess up once just once you are done." I stated.
He nodded his head pleadingly.
"I'm not done. First you have to win me over as a friend, then I will think about forgiving you as a mate." I finished.
He smiled and scooted his chair closer to my bed trying to grab my hand in which I cringed away. There was then a knock on the door and the pack doctor walked in with Stephen trailing behind him. I smiled brightly at Stephen which made Ethan tighten his jaw. Stephen sat next me and took my hand in his. Fireworks went off at the simple touch.
"Hello Luna Summer" the pack doctor bowed to me. I smiled and let him go on.
"Your gun shot it healing greatly as though it was laced with wolfsbane and it was unfortunately a silver bullet to make it much worse, it spread throughout your body and it will keep your whole abdomen tender and painful. I have prescribed you some pills that you should take before bed and in the morning when you wake up." He said and handed me the pills. I smiled sweetly at him and quietly thanked him.
"You are also free to leave at anytime" he said. As soon as he left I swung my feet over the edge of the bed and stood up. I was a bad move because my legs started to shake and my knees buckled. I waited for the impact of the floor but I never felt it. For I was in big strong arms in a carried position. I looked up to see Ethan carrying me. I smiled at him while I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw Stephen had a scowl on his face. I rested my head on Ethan's shoulder and sighed. He looked down at me but, as soon as he saw that I looked at him he snapped his head away. We walked into the pack house and I realized it had been decorated with Halloween decorations. I smiled and realized that it was tomorrow. It's a good thing that I woke up at the right time. We walked through the house and everyone waved to me. As I waved back to many of them. I then heard Stephen sniffing the air.
"Stephen what's wrong?" I asked. I nudged Ethan to let me down. He did I wobbled for a good second but, quickly gained my balance back. He brushed me off and continued sniffing. I followed him to see what was going on. I was slower then him until I saw him sniffing a girl in the living room, who was sniffing him too. I quickly realized that it was his real mate. I was just a temporary mate. A temporary mate is basically what it sounds like, they are just there as a distraction basically until they find their real mate. That describes why only fireworks went off. When I first shifted and Ethan touched me I felt electricity run through me I felt alive. I smiled as they touched for the first time. Stephen then turned to me.
"Thank you." He said with a smile.
"For what" I asked.
"For being my distraction and then leading me to my real mate and I hope that we can be friends." He said.
I nodded my head and hugged him. I was happy for him. Truly happy for him. I also think I found my third in command.
"Stephen will you do me the honors and be my Gamma?" I asked.
He gleamed at me then shook his head repeatedly. I then walked out of the room and into the hallway where Ethan was waiting for me.
"Are you okay?" He asked lightly.
"I'm a bit upset but, i'm happy for him." I said. Ethan nodded.
"Let's go home." I said walking in front of him. Ethan then ran up behind me and scooped me up. We walked to my house and he opened the door then kicked it shut behind him. I giggled as he set me down on the couch.
"So what do you want for lunch?" Ethan asked me.
"Hm.... how about pizza?" I suggested.
"I'm always up for a good pizza" he laughed as he walked into the kitchen.
I fell back into the couch cushion and relaxed into the fluffiness of it. I then shut my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up again I was in my bed with a white t shirt that smelled like Ethan on and some black spandex. I pulled the shirt up and looked at the bandages that had been recently replaced. I sighed and went into my nightstand and pulled on some handy dandy fuzzy socks. I wrapped a fuzzy blanket around me too as a climbed out of bed. I walked down the stairs quietly and into the kitchen where two pizza boxes sat. I opened one and grabbed a plate from the cupboard and filled my plate with five slices. I then waddled into the living room where Ethan was sitting watching Dear, John. He had tear streaks down his face and I just had to get a picture. I quietly set my plate down on the marble island in the kitchen and snuck behind the place where he was sitting. I then snapped a picture but, I forgot one horrible mistake. My flash was on. My eyes got really big as I tried to get up and run but, he already captured my waist and pulled me over the couches to where I softly landed on my back. Ethan crawled through my legs and placed his hands at my sides and started tickling me. I screamed out of terror because of my stomach. The doctor said my stomach was going to be tender but, not my sides or this tender. I was on the verge of tears because it hurt so bad. I bit my lip to stop me from screaming again. Ethan was immediately retracted from my legs and was by my head whispering how he was sorry and saying apologies. I had silent tear streaks sliding down my face. Ethan patted my hair back softly and comforting me. After my little episode I had calmed down and slowed my breathing. I then hugged Ethan saying it was ok he didn't mean to purposely hurt me. We then cuddled on the couch and fell soundly asleep.
