Always There (A Snarry story)

Chapt 7: Summer

When school ended for the year, not with out a troll incident and voldemorts swear on returning, Harry was taken to his godfather's home. Who thankfully got out of imprisonment and had to just work for the ministry. Severus and Harry haven't seen each other since, only being able to communicate through the journals the head master had given them. Today was Harry's birthday and Black is throwing the kid a small party. Severus finished buttoning up the dark purple dress shirt he decided to wear. He picked up the neatly wrapped gift and made his way to his backyard and apparated to an alley not far from 12 Grimmauld Place. He started walking the rest of the way. Harry didn't know he was coming to the party, part of Black's plan. 'I hope he isn't mad at me for not visiting' he walked up to the front door and knocked. He heard running footsteps and the door was quickly opened to reveal A shocked Harry. "SEV!" The boy tackled him to the ground in a big hug. "Hello Harry, happy birthday" the boy refused to get off him, so Severus stood up with Harry in his arms and brought them inside. "Silly boy, what did I say about running inside?" Black chided when he caught up. "Hello Snivellus, thanks for coming" Harry was happily smiling, still in his arms. "Seems the prongslet had turned into a kola" Sirius went to remove Harry but the boy just tightened his grip on the Professor. "It's fine black let him be"

Snape took Harry into the living room with the other guests. Granger, Lovegood, and Longbottom sat on the floor playing a game and ignored the sight of Severus carrying harry. Albus, Minerva, and Remus were sitting and chatting over tea. "Ah, I see young mister Potter has found the mystery guest he was waiting for" Albus smiled. Severus sighs and sat in a vacant chair the boy still refusing to leave his side. He lowered his voice so the Harry could only here him. "You missed me that much?" He got a nod in return. "I missed you too" The green eyed boy hugged him again. "Brat" he muttered under his breath earning a laugh from harry.

It was getting pretty late Harry's friends had all went back home. All the adults had moved into the kitchen helping clean up. All except Severus, he was showing Harry how to play wizards chest. "Your pretty good at this game Harry" the boy yawned. For being 12 he acted very clinging. But it was only with him as he was today. Harry looked up at Severus "Read me a book?" He agreed.  The child ran off and returned with a mugggle story and got back into Snape's lap. Severus didn't bother with looking at the title and began reading.

He stoped half way through when he heard soft snoring. He once again picked the boy up and carried him into the kitchen. He was glad the boy was still small spite his age. "Where is his room?" Remus came over to him "I'll take him up and give you a break" he really didn't want to agree, he didn't want to let go. "Okay" Remus took the boy up stairs. Severus took a seat next to albus. "The boy has really changed you" he took the drink that was handed to him. "He hasn't, more like he worked his way into my life" Albus looked over the young professor and nodded. "If you say so" The headmaster knew he had a soft spot.

Remus soon came down with a now wide awake Harry. "He refuses to sleep and wants to know if he can spend the night at your place Severus." The potion master drained his drink. "Of course he can, he is always welcomed in my home" the boy cheered and ran up the stairs to pack. Once a bag was packed Snape took the boy's hand and went to the fire place and flooed them both to his home.

Harry yawned as soon as he stepped out of th fire place. "Go and get to bed, we can go to hogsmead or diagon alley tomorrow". Harry saluted him "yes sir" and marched off to his room, which snape didn't touch since the boy left. Once he was out of sight Severus fell heavily into his chair. This boy has him wrapped around his finger. But what was he supose to do, let him stay with those awful muggles. His father was the same way to him. That's why he sealed off the attic and a few other small spaces his father shoved him into around the house. At least he saved the boy.
