He started to walk to where the bread shop was. He quickly jumped behind a building when he saw a familiar redhead. It was Avery. He breathed slowly and hoped that she wouldn't look to the right. Cole was just around the corner of the building. All Avery had to do was look over and she'd see him. He heard the soft footsteps get louder and louder. But then they stopped. Cole was sure that his heartbeat was loud enough to hear. He didn't hear anymore footsteps. He heard nothing. His heart was beating more than it ever had before. He was frozen in fear.

He was relieved when the footsteps started again. But they still seemed to be getting closer and closer. Cole had his eyes closed. When he was a child he thought that if he couldn't see someone then they couldn't see him. There was still a small bit of him that believed that. The footsteps sounded like they were a few feet away. They stopped again. All he heard was a taping foot. Then the steps resumed. But this time they got farther away. He stayed there until he could barely hear them.

He took a deep breath and sat up. He walked out from his terrible hiding place. His phone chimed. The footsteps. They were back. There were louder than before. They were fast. He ran. He didn't stop running. He ran in and out of alleyways. He came to a stop. It was a dead end. Of course. The footsteps weren't to far away. He stood there panicking. He didn't know where he could escape to. Then. It happened. The thing that hasn't happened in years. Cole got an anxiety attack. The world around him spun and then disappeared.

Cole was met with his old friend. Or he wouldn't call it a friend. His so called name was Liam. He was an image of Cole's anxiety.

"Hello my friend. I've missed you. You haven't come to see me in a while." Liam said.

"Go away Liam. Get out of my head. I don't need you anymore." Cole said trying to act strong. Liam could see right through him.

"But you must need me. If you really want me out of your head then just take me out...Or..I guess you to weak. Yes. That's it. Your still as weak as you were when I left you." Liam smirked.

"Get out of my head. Get out. I'm not weak and I certainly didn't call you to me." Cole said. He was no longer trying to act tough.

"But thats where youre wrong. You did call me here. I can't just si-" Liam said but was cut off.

"You're right. I can just make you go away." Cole said as he made Liam go back deep into his brain.

Cole was brought back into reality. He was still at the dead end. He was laying on the concrete. Avery wasn't there. He was thankful.

His phone was buzzing like crazy. He looked at it. 73 missed messages from Veronica. He saw it and shook his head. Another buzz.

Whatever loser. Thanks for blowing me off. I was just trying to be nice. Whatever. See ya loser. Veronicas last text read. Cole knew that it was too good to be true. Veronica was really a witch.

Cole sat there just sitting. He did nothing but close his eyes and imagine a life without all of this drama. He wanted to forget about all of it. But he couldn't. But he sure could pretend to.
