Never Make A Promise (TWD/ Daryl Dixon FanFic)

Courtyard

It was dark out when we all sat round a little campfire in the courtyard. Well I say everyone, Daryl was taking watch on a tipped over bus and Rick was doing his fourth lap around the perimitter, making sure that it was safe .

I sighed just as Carol stood up with a plate of meat. "where err.... where you going?" I questioned, looking up at her. Carol looked from Daryl to me and back again. She smirked and handed the plate to me "here hun, tell him its not much but if you didn't bring him something then he wouldn't eat at all" I nodded as she took her seat near Lori, Maggie and Glenn.

I frowned in her direction before shrugging and walking over to the truck where Daryl was positioned.

I climbed up the wheel and placed the plate down so I could pull myself up. I almost had it until my foot slip, I was expecting to hurt my ass but instead I felt a warm hand. I looked up and saw Daryl with his hand around mine. He helped pull me up and then picked up and the plate and started eating it.

"I know its not much but if I didn't bring you something then you wouldn't of eaten at all" I memorized what Carol had said, waiting for him to reply.

"yeah well, its seems like 'little Shane' has quite the appetite" I playfully slapped him when he said that but I had to laugh at that because it's probably true.

I suddenly started getting a pain in my shoulder blade. "hey, you OK?" "yeah" I nodded as I tried to reach the spot that hurt and rub it but then I gave up. "here" Daryl placed his plate down and licked his fingers before turning me around and messaging my should.

I moaned in pleasure but I think that got Daryl a bit uncomfortable as he cleared his throat and moved away. "err... we better get back" I smirked "do you just want to stay up here and fool around?" "pft!" I chuckled at that response. "I'll go down first" my smile widened "even better" "stop" I laughed when he got down and helped me down.

I walked side by side Daryl, back to the campfire where we stood just as Rick got back. He crouched down by Lori "I know this was a huge achievement but we need to press a little further." we all looked at each other and then back at Rick "we start in the morning. everyone get some rest"

Daryl immediately walked off from the group and I groaned as I followed him "you've gotta start trusting these people" he immediately whipped round and I thought he was going to shout and "bitch" at me but to my surprise he walked up to me with a frown on his face, cupped my cheeks and kissed me.

His hand went from the back of my head to my neck and the other stayed around my waist and on my back.

Daryl then pulled away and looked expectantly into my eyes, my breath hitched as I looked into his eyes but instead of saying anything I pulled his shirt and planted a kiss on his lips.

I would of pulled away but his hand was on the back of my head, not letting me move which I didn't really mind. I wrapped my arms around his neck at the same time as his snaked to my hips.

I smiled when Daryl's hand accidentally grazed over my butt. He was about to pull away and apologize but I pulled him back to me and kissed him before he could say anything.

I smirked against his lips letting him know it was nothing to worry about. I pulled away a couple seconds later and rested my forehead against his. "It's a beautiful night, fancy sleeping under the stars?" I bit my lip waiting for an answer but instead on getting one Daryl took my hand in his and led me somewhere.

We got to the tipped over truck and Daryl let got off my hand before climbing up, he held his hand out from the top and I looked back at the still glowing campfire before turning back round and taking Daryl's hand to help me up.

Let's just hope tomorrow is as good as today....
