"Wow! His neighbor?!" "Yes, I was Daryl's neighbor. Why? Is that a problem?" "No, not at all" I frowned as I glanced Beth's way. I thought we were gonna be out here a while so we might as well get to know each other.

"So Beth, what do you like to do? Or use to? I waited for her answer even thought I'm pretty sure I knew what it was going to be. "Well I love to sing...." Whoop, there it is. "I also like playing the piano"

I rolled my eyes. I think I could have taken the awkward silence with Daryl over this conversation with Beth.

"What did you use to do? You know, when you were Daryl's neighbor" I think I'm gonna shoot myself. "I use to hang out with Daryl and his brother, Merle. We were like the three musketeers." I said it so simply it sounded so unreal.

"Well what happened?" I stopped dead in my tracks causing Beth to bump into me. I glared at her and then looked back through the trees. "What? What is it?" "Shh!" I hushed her, creeping towards the overgrown trees. I waved for Beth to follow quietly.

The rustling got louder as we approached.... A creek? I haven't seen a creek this beautiful since we left the barn. I looked around at the sight When my eyes fell on the biggest buck I have seen since shit hit the fan.

"Beth. Beth! Do you see that?" I think I got a bit excited but why shouldn't I be? Its a big ass buck!

As it is in this world, nothing ever last forever. "Arrrr" "Beth, watch out!" I pushed the blonde girl out of the way as a snarling walker stumbled out way.

I leaped into action and pulled my knife from my boot, jabbing it into the walkers skull.

I didn't think the next part through as the giant ass walker started falling towards me. It landed right on top of me and as it was twice my weight I couldn't even budge it.

Snarling started to surround the area again. It sounded like over a dozen walkers were surrounding the place. I panicked. Trying my hardest the move the walker off me. I knew it was no good.

I turned to a frightened Beth who looked at me with worry in her eyes. I took a deep breath. "Beth, I want you to listen to me. You have to get back to the prison as fast as possible and get help"

Beth whimpered "wha- what about you?" I pulled my knife out of the walkers skull and threw it to her. "Go, you can do it. Get help. Go!" I urged her and she got to her feet and ran as fast as she could.

I sighed and tried once more to move this damn Walker. "Come on Jay, you can do this!" I grunted to myself and counted to three.

"1,2,3!" I grunted and pushed the walker until my legs and body were finally free. Just in time too. Three walkers just appeared through the trees.

I grabbed my gun from its holster and checked how many rounds I had. "Six, that's gonna have to do" I reloaded my gun and shot the first walker in the head, making it fall to the ground.

I got 3 more walkers and they all fell to the ground. It was quiet. I thought I got them all when.... A bigger, muscular walker came at me. Stumbling so slowly it was painful. I held my gun up to shoot it between the eyes when another walker was about to go for my arm. I quickly turned and shot it making it fall on top of me.

"Shit!" Two walkers in one day. What are the chances?! The big walker was closer now and my gun was knocked out of my hand. I tried reaching for it but the walker was being difficult and would budge.

"Come on" my finger tips were touching the gun but I couldn't grip it. "Please!" I pleaded to whatever gods were left. I jumped as I was being pounded with extra weight.

I was now struggling to breath. It was like the air was being sucked out of me. I tried for my gun again bit my vision was going blurry. I was using one arm to hold the walker off and the other to reach my gun.

It was no use. My arm was aching and I now wheezing for air. This was it. I closed my eyes and moved my head to the right, waiting for the walker to bite down on my neck.

I let my mind wonder. I was thinking about Rick, Hershel, the baby and Daryl. Oh Daryl, I'm so sorry. I would give anything to see or hear him one last time.

"Ouch!" I felt the weight on me get even heavier and then all the weight was lifted and I could breathe.

I opened my eyes slowly and saw a shadow standing over me. I squeezed my eyes shut as a reflex but nothing happened. I opened them again and looked up. "I aint got all day" I smiled "Daryl" I sat up slowly but my chest really hurt so it was a struggle.

"Ye just dont know how to stay out ta trouble do ya?" I chuckled as he held his hand out for me. I took it and stood up but as sson as I did I whinced in pain and hunched over, clutching my chest.

"What's wrong?" I wheezed, I couldn't even speak. "I gasped a little as Daryl picked me up bridal style and carried me away. "Ye gonna be ok Jay. Hang in there" I felt his lips press against my forehand just as blackness took over my vision.

Another belated chapter. I am honestly so sorry for these late updates. Thank you for staying with me.

On another note... The Walking Dead has finished until next year! Beth is dead and Daryl cried! Oh My God! Who else is excited for next year! Whoo!
