"I hate driving," I groan as we slide into the car later that day. We just finished inhaling some dinner and put our things in my car.
"I told you we could switch halfway there, it's only like a four or five-hour drive." He chuckles and I grumble and start the car as Raymond comes over to my window.
"What's the plan again?"
"The buses should be here at nine, if not, let me know. Before you leave, do a headcount, make sure everyone on that list I gave you is there, double check. Wait, no," I pause as I look up at him, "Triple check, we need every person to be there, got it?"
Raymond nods, "Got it, Luna."
"Make sure that tomorrow everyone who has stayed behind has moved into the pack house, I wanna make sure everyone is in one area to keep them safe. Let me know if you have trouble and I'll come running back, okay?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"And-"
"Eva!" Grayson groans and I sigh.
"Is that everything?"
Raymond nods, "Yeah, I got it, don't worry, everyone will get there safe and sound."
"Good," I murmur and then wave. "I'll see you when we come back home."
"How long do you think this will take?"
"I'm not sure, we'll just have to see how they learn," I grumble and then wave and drive away. Cait, Jason, and Jessie follow us in the car behind us.
Grayson reaches forward and turns the radio on and leans back, closing his eyes. I settle into my seat as we drive down the gravel road toward the main roads.

I frown as I slow down, immediately recognizing where we're at. It's been two years, but you never forget the road you walked every day to school.
"This is it," I murmur and tighten my grip on the wheel.
"What's wrong, Eva?" Grayson looks over at me and I sigh, realizing I never told him the story.
"I sort of... grew up in the Silver Eclipse pack. Two years ago, I met my mate, he was the Alpha's son and he rejected me on the spot. So, I ran, Cait and I drove away and got as far away as we could. I never thought I'd come back to this place." I whisper, leaning forward as memories come to the surface. I blink away my tears, "My mother died eight years ago, we'd been in an accident and she died. The pack blamed me, my father blamed me and I... sort of blamed myself too. It was a miserable growing up here."
"Wow," Grayson says quietly, resting his hand on my arm. "I'm sorry you went through that."
"It's just," I pause and inhale slowly. "Stressful, my anxiety is through the roof and I don't know what I'm going to do when I see him again."
"Is the Alpha your mate?"
I nod my head, "Yeah, sadly."
"Do you think he'll recognize you?"
"Probably, I've barely changed, just grew up and gained a whole pack." I chuckle bitterly and then shake my head. "I'm here to train a pack, not dwell on the past."
"How did you shift without him?"
"It's complicated, I'll tell you later."
Grayson stays silent as we finally find ourselves pulling into a clearing. My knuckles turn white and I swallow the lump in my throat, brushing away my thoughts as I drop the wall between Grayson, Cait, Jason, Jessie, and I. "Are we ready to meet the pack Cait and I grew up in?"
