The next morning Professor Snape have each of them their time tables, smiling at each Slytherin, except, for some reason, Harry. He gave Harry an assessing look, almost as if he as well was wondering why he was a Slytherin. Harry stared back at him, searching through his face to see if he could find an inkling of emotion. Snape almost jumped back at the pure determination he saw in the young student, but his face remained impassive and he continued moving forward.
"I can't believe we have charms with the Hufflepuffs!" Daphne complained looking at her timetable.
"You think that's bad, we've got Herbology with the Ravenclaws - they'll be so stuck up about it." Theodore exclaimed.
"Have you seen Potions? We have to have it with the bloody Gryffindor!" The rest of them complained about each subject for a few minutes before Tracey looked at Harry. He was being particularly quiet and she was wondering why.
"Potter, which are you least looking forward to?" She asked, her voice silky and smooth, the underline meaning of the questions present. Harry looked directly into her eyes with profound confidence, although his voice was soft, and slightly broken.
"Why does it matter who we have lessons with?" Draco looked at him in horror.
"Why does it matter Potter? It matters because we are better than them and they don't deserve to have lessons with us. They don't like us and are horrible to us; believing us all to be dark. Why should we work with them?" Harry turned to look at Draco. He saw out of the corner of his eyes that Tracey was telling him not to push it; but he ignored the warning.
"Well why don't we tell and show them what we are like? Show them that we are not evil but that we have the ability to be more cunning and we are more ambitious so we are able to gain more power over them. I'm sure most of you yesterday saw the other kids standing beside us and you saw them as nothing more than kids who were just as nervous as you were. You didn't judge them for their house, because you were all in the same boat. Why should that change now?" Although Tracey gave him a warning look earlier, she, as well as Daphne and Blaise were looking at him with newfound respect, and curiosity. Theo was also looking at him with respect, although his was less pronounced, like he didn't know what to think of this new opinion that was brought to the Slytherin first years.
Draco glared at Harry.
"Honestly Potter. Go back to the Gryffindors where you belong." He scoffed. Harry put down his knife and fork and got up.
"I'm going to get my Charms textbook, is anyone else coming?" Tracey, Daphne and Blaise all stood up, and Harry could see Theodore was questioning whether to come. He decided not to in the end, however, he did not start eating again. Harry nodded slightly towards him, acknowledging the fact that he had contemplated what he had said. The group left the table, unaware of the glaring eyes from behind them, as well as the surprised look from somewhere unexpected.

"Severus, What is going on with your first year students?" Minerva McGonagall asked her colleague who was sitting to the left side of her. Pomona Sprout also looked over. They had both noticed that half the Slytherin students had left earlier, as well as the fact that they seemed to be arguing over something at the table. Severus glared back at them, as if it was not their business to interfere in his students, however he gave them an answer.
"I do not know Minerva, Pomona. When I went down to give them their time tables they were fine." Minerva and Pomona looked at him.
"Well please sort it out, I would not like there to be interhouse fights on the first day of Term, especially not between first years, and slytherins at that." Minerva said to Severus. He nodded curtly and turned towards the Slytherin table, noting that Theodore Nott had left.

Back in the common room, the small group of four had just met up again after collecting their Charms textbooks. Unlike the other first years, this group, as well as Theodore had made a note of the markings on the walls of the dungeons to memorise their way. They had been awkwardly silent throughout walking here, something they knew had to be out right. Tracey took a deep breath when the two boys walked in and spoke.
"Potter - I mean Harry," this caught Harry's attention, since all of them had been referring to him as Potter. "Did you really mean what you said to Malfoy?" Harry studied her face for a second. She showed hardly any emotion, although if you looked close enough you could see a hint of questioning, nearly pleading to know the answer. Harry nodded to her question.
"I did Tracey. I'm sure all of you only saw the other kids as nervous eleven year olds, just like you, and now you're judging them because of what house they're in." All four of them looked at him and nodded.
"I agree with you Harry." Daphne said, a new found confidence in her words, actions and opinions. "We should not judge someone by their house. Thank you, Harry, for opening my eyes." Harry was taken aback at this mini speech from Daphne, and the other could clearly see that on his face.
"And ours." Blaise and Tracey added on to Daphne's last sentence.
"However, I still believe our bloods are better than Muggle borns. That's hard to change."
Blaise said. Harry smirked.
"I'll change your views on that in no time, Blaise." Blaise lightly slapped his arm as the girls laughed. They just hoped they could get Theo onto this idea, and they would be set to change the future.
"Come one, lets head to Charms." The group left the room, all smiling, unaware of the change they would bring to the future of the wizarding world.
