"Come on Harry, let me take you on a tour of the Cottage," Minerva put her arm around Harry, who did as best as he could to suppress a flinch, although his efforts were in vain as Minerva noticed anyway, and led him around the cottage.
"The ground floor is where the first living room and the kitchens are,
as well as the dining room used for entertaining people." She said as she took him around the rooms. Harry stared in amazement, not used to having such a large house. They walked up a flight of stairs to the first floor.
"This floor consists of my bedroom, as well as what will be your bedroom, and two other bedrooms. There is also a gym down the hall to your left, and the spare bathroom. My and your bedrooms both are en suite." Harry looked shocked at the mention of a gym, and gave a questioning look to his guardian.
"I may be older than most, but that does not mean I do not like to keep in shape. In fact, keeping in shape is especially helpful for duelling, and that will be helpful when it comes to defeating you-know-who, who, as we all know, is not dead yet." Harry smiled at his guardian, knowing that she would be able to help him in his ventures, and that she would be a good influence on him (although he hoped he wouldn't turn into much of a gryffindor.) The final she led him to, had her own private study, as well as two more guest bedrooms, and another bathroom. It also had the second living room, which was considerably larger than the first one.
"So what do you think?" Minerva asked her young charge. He turned to her, smiling, and gave her a dog hug.
"I love it aunt Minerva." The professor was surprised as he initiated the action, but found herself wrapping her arms around the young boy. For the first time, Harry felt loved and wanted.
"Come we shall settle you down in your bedroom. We shall sort the colour of the walls out this evening, and tomorrow I shall take you shopping for a new wardrobe." Harry smiled at his guardian.
"Simply place your wand on the wall, and think of the colour you would like." Harry looked up, trying to think of a colour that would look nice. He ended up picking a light blue, which would enhance the sunlight in his room. Minerva smiled at his choice, then gently kissed him on his forehead, barely touching his skin.
"Goodnight Harry, I shall see you in the morning." Harry stood, shocked, before shaking himself out of his stupor, and grasping his guardian in a hug.
"Goodnight Aunty Minerva." They stood like that for what seemed like years, before Harry finally let go, walking into his bathroom to get ready for bed. Minerva followed in suit, knowing they would have a very busy day tomorrow. The next morning, Harry woke up promptly at 6am. Although he had not been to the Dursleys in almost a year, the habit of waking up earlier than most would likely continue to stay with him throughout his life. It didn't help that his room had very see through curtains, and would let in large amounts of light. He looked outside, sighing wistfully at the pitch that adorned the garden. He noticed it was smaller than the one at hogwarts, although it was still a decent size.
After reluctantly changing, Harry went outside, with his broom, and flew before breakfast. He loved the feeling of the wind through his hair, blowing it back, his scar open for all to see. He was so caught up with his diving, he didn't realise his Great Godmother coming outside to watch, truly marvelling in his flying, knowing that she had rarely seen a player with such natural talent. Of course, there were people who trained to get there, the captain of the Holyhead Harpies coming to mind, but to Harry, flying was as easy as breathing. As she saw him landing, she clapped for him, hiding her disdain for the clothes he was wearing.
"You really are amazing, Harry." Harry blushed at the praise, but kept his head held high.
"Thank you, aunty Minerva." She ruffled his hair, gesturing him inside.
"Penelope, our head cook, has informed me that breakfast is ready, when you are." Harry nodded, and the two. walked off the pitch together, Minerva's arm still around her young charge. At breakfast, Minerva informed Harry of their plan for today.
"We will be going shopping for you today, Harry. I hope you do not mind, but we shall start in the Muggle World first, before getting you some robes." Harry nodded, happy he would have some muggle clothes. He did not like wearing robes, too uncomfortable, and he was not able to freely move in them.
"I would also like to get you to take an inheritance test."
Harry scrunched his eyebrows, turning back to his guardian, she answered his unasked question.
"An Inheritance Test is one that will show you your birth certificate, any inheritance you might have, any family's which you are heir or lord of, and any vaults and accommodation you own." Harry nodded slightly, remembering the brief conversation he had had with his friends about it.They finished breakfast in a comfortable silence, then Minerva guided Harry to the Floo.
"I assume you have never used a floo before?" Minerva asked, her tone questioning. Harry shook his head.
"No, Amelia and Susan took me to their home via Floo." Minerva nodded her acceptance, before allowing her charge to floo first. He grabbed te powder and threw it down the fireplace, shouting 'Diagon Alley' in his clearest voice. He vanished from sight, and Minerva grimaces as she realised Harry forget to take his glasses off. She followed quickly in suit, and had to hold in a chuckle at the sight that beheld her. Harry was in the floor, with no glasses on, as he was trying to look for them.
"Accio Harry's Glasses." Minerva said, her voice clear. Two bits of the glasses zapped towards her and she caught them, a piece in each hand. A quick reparo and they were all fixed for her young ward."Stupid bloody glasses." Harry muttered, taking them from Minerva with a nod of thanks.
"I should reprimand you for your language but i think I'll let it go this time." Minerva smirked, Harry had a look of disbelief on his face, though he quickly covered it up and smirked too.
"I'll make sure not to use any of the worse one I kn-Hey don't blame me, blame Un-Vernon." He held his hands up in surrender to his guardians mock glare, and she smiled at him.
"Good. I shall blame Vernon for anything I see fit. And that is most definitely one of them. Come let us head into the Muggle world." Harry smiled. Although he loved the magic of the wizarding world, the muggle world truly was extraordinary... he would have to talk to Minerva about implementing some of the more useful invention. Pens and Pencils, for example.
