This Chapter was written by me.
I turned into the Cereal aisle, clutching my Sniper Rifle. I expected walkers, or people, or corpses. But what I found was worse. Much much worse. There was a baby. In the Cereal aisle, in the arms of their dead mother. Well. Shit.
“What the fuck?” I muttered to myself “GRACE, ALEX? YOU GONNA WANNA COME SEE THIS!” I yelled out.
Grace came running round the corner. Followed by Alex and then Harō who I had completely forgotten about.
“What is it-OH MY GOD!” Grace said “is...that what I think it is??”.
“Yes Grace, that is a Baby" said, Alex ran past me, and knelt by the mother. Then they picked up a note and read it aloud
“Please, if you're reading this and my baby's still alive, please look after her. Her name is Rose and hoping she’s still alive I want whoever finds us to look after her. Please that's all I ask" Alex read “Well, that's it" I noticed Rose started to cry, so I walked over, put my Sniper Rifle over my shoulder, and picked rose up.
“I’d say she's been here about 2 days. She’ll want food a wash, and a clean nappy. I suggest we hold of on raiding and focus on Helping Rose. That ok?” I asked
Grace nodded
“David when did you become the father type?” She asked smirking
“Since I found a Effing baby in Tescos, in the apocalypse, alone with no parents" I replied “I’d say Rose’s mother was killed 2 days ago”
“But how are we going to take care of a baby??” Alex asked “we already have three people and a dog!”
“Nobody's asking you to stay Alex" I said rather coldly, while glaring at blue haired female “It will help us Greatly if you left, but that's up to Grace and you”
Alex returned the cold look
“You just want me out of the group because you want
“grace to yourself!” They said. “Your forgetting that I am actually their partner right? I care for her! I'm allowed to!”
“Good for fucking You! MAYBE IF YOU WERE THERE FOR GRACE WHEN HER PARENTS GOT KILLED BY THE INFECTION I’D SEE YOU AS HER PARTNER!” I yelled. Rose started to cry again, I growled angrily and marched off into another part of the store to calm Rose down
I heard footsteps padding behind me.
It was Harō.
Harō came up to me and sat beside me
I assumed Grace had stayed behind to calm down Alex.
Harō licked my hand.
“Heh. At least your not angry at me Harõ” I said.
Harō let out a small sympathetic bark.
“Grace is probably going to hate me now. That hit close to home for the both of us" I said to Rose and Harõ. Rose simply gurgled and threw her arms about.
“Why do you assume that?” A voice came from behind me.
It was grace “I'd never hate you. Not for anything”.
“Did you not hear what I shouted? It just proves Alex’s point that I'm a selfish prick" I said
“You're not a selfish prick!” Grace said “you were just trying to keep someone you love safe” Grace paused
“Though...in a fairness you weren't the nicest to Alex...but still! I know you get snappy when your stressed!”
“It's not just that, it's the fact that Alex thinks she can just stroll in after disappearing for 2 months and that she assumes that I just want you to myself. I'm trying to keep you safe, but I'm seeing Alex as a threat" I said, looking down.
Grace paused again.
“I don't really know what to say. Though how about I hold rose for a bit and get her cleaned up? The bathrooms are right over there, you go look for supplies”
“Sure, I'll see if I can find some food for her and supplies for us" I pass Grace Rose and stand up, heading off into the aisles to look for supplies.
