When David passed out the doctor simply sighed

“Well we got another one...nurse! Can you help me out!?”

Him and the nurse put him on the table next to me and put him on an IV drip.

I was still very panicky.

My heart was still racing and the restraints were not helping.

But. I could understand why they were there...I had punched Doctor Regan after all

Once they had sorted out David Doctor Regan came over to me again

“Ok grace. Can I look at your arms now?”

I nodded. Still scared

He began to unwrap my bandages again. I began twitching.

“Grace I really need to look at these” he said pausing for a moment.

My heart started getting out of control as the bandages come off.

“Oh my god” he said.

He got the attention of a nearby nurse to come see my arm.

“No wonder she's unstable…” She whispered

“Let's...just do the other one” he said as he walked around the bed and unwrapped the other bandages.

The same horrified look came over his face.

“This Dean really was a nasty piece of work” he said to himself “alright well your wounds look kinda inflamed so they are probably slightly infected” he placed his hand on my forehead, making me flinch.

“Slight fever” he muttered

As this moment I could see David starting to come around.

I looked at him. Tears still falling from my eyes as I twitched uncontrollably.

“Jesus Christ on a candlestick. I feel like utter shite” David muttered.

He opened his eyes and saw my arms exposed and my eyes red from crying.

“Jeez. We both look like death”

I let out a small smile but It quickly disappeared as Doctor Regan began cleaning my wounds.

“Just hold on alright? I'm afraid it's gonna sting for a while”

“Probably not eating or sleeping properly is a good reason why I passed out.” David lifted up his Hoodie and shirt to reveal a body that looked starved, he was covered in scars, and bones could be clearly seen.

I was taken aback from what I saw. I didn't know that David looked like that! His hoodie made him look like he was fine!

I gave David a sad look as if to say ‘Why didn't you tell me?” It was then Dr Regan noticed David. And panicked slightly. “I didn't say anything because I didn't want to stress you Grace”

“My god! How long were you kids out there for?” Dr Regan said.

“Since the infection started. We were down in Oxford when it hit. Both of our parents got killed so we stuck together as we knew each Other before the infection.”

“How did you survive? I've seen adults that couldn't survive for as long as that!” He said walking over to David and inspecting him “Doc. I was a gamer before the infection. I’ve been dreaming about scenarios like this my entire life. Hell, While everyone else was running away, Me and the British Army were running towards the horde. I've played hundreds of different ways this could've played out in my head”
