Hessa snuggled with her boyfriend, Nothile, in their bed. Nothile's arm was wrapped tightly around her waist. They both had the same thought on their minds. Today marked the first anniversary of meeting one another.

A lot had happened in that single year. After the afterglow had faded on that first night in Nothile's old High Priest's bedchambers, they went back to the Cairo museum to tell Akiva. After a paperwork struggle with the American embassy, Akiva and Hessa were able to acquire a passport for Nothile. All three paranormals boarded a plane bound for America the day after.

Molahs and Chandrakant had been surprised that Hessa had met her true love during her trip to Cairo. Of course, Molahs was thrilled that his daughter had met someone and lost her virginity in the same day. However, Chandrakant was suspicious. At Chandrakant's insistence, Nothile was made to sleep in the basement until the eldest Canine sibling felt he could trust his sister's suitor not to slaughter them all in their sleep.

Unbeknownst to Chandrakant, Molahs had designed the mansion with secret passageways. The demon lord had showed Nothile the passageway that led to his daughter's room. In this way, Nothile and Hessa could spend the night together and Nothile sneak back to the basement without Chandrakant knowing any different.

Nothile had been allowed, under Chandrakant's direct knowledge, to sleep in Hessa's room for close to six months. As Chandrakant was the only one in the mansion that matched Nothile's height and weight exactly, Akiva and Hessa took the latter clothes shopping since the former wasn't willing to share with the death deity. The half demon siblings had Nothile try on everything under the sun; turtlenecks, slacks, t-shirts, jeans, sweaters, etc. Jeans were a fast favorite to the High Priest.

After he had settled in a bit, Nothile had gotten a job at a museum a couple blocks away from the mansion. Thanks to him being an Ancient Egyptian, he had been hired to translate anything with hieroglyphs and heratic. Within the first month, Nothile had translated everything the museum had. Even though he wasn't there everyday from a certain time to a certain time, he was still paid on a two-week basis and only called if something new came in from Egypt.

Through practice, all four demonics had taught Nothile to read, write, and speak in English. They had also brought him up to speed on around four thousand years of history. Even Akiva tried to show Nothile how to work their plasma screen tv, the latter only scoffed and said he had no use for moving and talking pictures. On that note, Hessa had decided to take Nothile to art museums, operas, the library four blocks away from the mansion, and even to the orchestra.

The death deity used his spare time to read. Since all of the demonics except Akiva had trouble cooking, Nothile often fixed meals when Akiva was busy elsewhere. Nothile still rose with the dawn, much to Hessa's dismay. The death deity also kept with his old habit of sleeping naked which pleased the half demoness.

Currently, it was early morning. The duo had been awake since before dawn. It had actually been Hessa to rise first. She had had a sudden fancy to see the sunrise.

She had quietly managed to sneak out of bed, see the sunrise, and sneak into bed all before Nothile woke up. Since Hessa was a demonic, she had a light tread. All Nothile knew was that Hessa was awake when he awoke. Now, they were wrapped on each other's arms.

"Nothile?" Hessa asked.

Nothile answered, "Yes, My Dearest Moon? What is it?"

"How much do you love me?" Hessa returned.

Nothile softly smiled and replied, "I love you more than there are stars in the sky, food in the world, and songs to listen to. In my heart, Hessa you have no equal."
