Lavonda Beth Dawn was twenty four years old. Since she was a child, she had known that she was the reincarnation of an Egyptian Queen. It had taken years to regain the memories of her past life. Once she had, she'd vowed revenge against the one who had defeated her in the year 2016.
She had been reborn almost as soon as she had been vanquished. Lavonda had grown up in Germany, as the daughter of rich aristocrats. Upon coming of age, she had gone to college in Berlin and majored in linguistics. She now held a job as a universal translator.
Currently, Lavonda was in her hotel room in East Texas, reading the New York Times. Her eyes widened as she saw the smiling face of her past life's strongest pawn: Nothile. The picture portrayed his wife, Hessa, her two brothers, Chandrakant and Akiva, their father, Molahs, his daughter-in-law, Trinity, and now twenty one year old Takai, sixteen year old Ioyazi, and ten year old twins Serena and Erudite. Lavonda began to smirk as an evil plot formed in her mind.
According to ancient lore, there was a creature that relished in the taste of children. Once awoken, this creature, known as the Calamity, would unleash pure terror. Defeating the Calamity involved sacrificing a child. Unleashing the Calamity would most assuredly give Lavonda the vengeance she craved.
If Lavonda could manage to kidnap one of the ten year old twins, she could use them to take her revenge. In her eyes, Hessa had had no reason to kill her preincarnation like she had. In Lavonda's opinion, no-one deserved to be strangled to death. She would use the Calamity to tear apart their oh-so-happy home, no matter the cost.
Lavonda decided to do a little more research on the Canine Family. Luckily for her, she owned a state-of-the-art laptop. A few links later, Lavonda discovered that Nothile worked at the museum. An evil grin spread an idea came to her...
Nothile smirked. His latest translation task was too easy for him. He estimated that within half an hour, he'd be on his way back home to spend quality time with his eldest son, his treasured twins, and his pregnant mate. He had been excited upon hearing that Hessa's was expecting yet another child.
"You are an amateur." A voice suddenly declared.
Nothile rolled his eyes and replied, "How so?"
A woman walked up beside him. She was wearing a business suit the shade of crow plumage. Her dark green eyes were narrowed. Her pale pink lips were pursed critically.
"I've looked over your so-called 'translations', and I must say that your attempts are rather...cute." The woman remarked.
Nothile's eyes darkened. He hated something he did being called cute! He forced himself to take a deep breath. It wouldn't do any good to get angry.
Nothile asked, in a tone that showed his stifled rage, "Excuse me, but who exactly are you?"
The woman's lips rose slightly as she sardonicly replied, "From the looks of things, I am a more professional translator. My name is Lavonda Dawn."
Nothile scoffed and responded, "Well, Lavonda, I would appreciate it if you did not insult my work."
"Oh, I am not insulting, simply pointing out that the decifers of the Ancient Egyptian artifacts done by you are completely incorrect." Lavonda replied, looking around, picking things up, inspecting them, then putting them back.
Nothile breathed deeply as he struggled to remain calm. One of his hands began to twitch. Nothile recognized the twitch as an urge to hit something. Despite his history of not striking women, the ex-High Priest felt the urge to do just that.
"I suggest that you turn around, head out that door, and leave me alone. In as little words that you might understand: you do not want to anger me." Nothile remarked trying to control himself.
