Oliver POV

"Just get the fuck away from me alright? I don't want to talk to anyone right now."

I looked at Fukase with a concerning look. Piko wasn't kidding when he said that the red headed Vocaloid was a bit tense to talk too. Even though I've heard so many good things about his voice provider...the Vocaloid himself seems a bit...stand off ish..

I looked behind me too see the other vocaloids in the ballroom dancing away, or chatting, and possibly even getting more intimate with one another. I turned back around to the red headed Vocaloid with their arms crossed.

"Ah...Um...Do you possibly want to talk about some of the original songs you were asked to sing?" I quietly mumbled. He made an annoyed sigh and looked at me. Those red orbs stared deep into my soul, possibly trying to get me to back off. They were kind of like walls telling me to go away. Walls with spikes with a matter of fact. But if I did, I'd never forgive myself. I'm determined to show every Vocaloid in this room that Fukase isn't as bad as he seems.

I mean...If I convinced a gothic kuudere to dance with a silver haired Vocaloid with a P ahoge and usb tail, I can certainly manage this right?

"I think....you have an interesting design..."

Silence.

"Are you going to join people dancing?"

A sigh.

"How about at the refreshments table...?"

The one sided conversation so far has gotten us no where, and I've started getting pretty anxious. Deciding if I should leave him be or not...."I heard you have a powerful voice. I'd love to uh...hear it? Maybe you can teach me how to-"

He sighed again. But to my surprise, it was followed by a response. "You've never heard me sing before?" I slowly shook my head no. "Alright then, follow me." He grabbed my hand and lead me out of the ballroom. Weaving through doorways and through the hallways. He lead me up the stairs covered in red carpet all the way to the wide balcony on the second floor.

The stars were aligned in the pitch black sky and the previous blasting music became more muffled as we walked out and closed the door behind us. The room of large glittering dresses and shining tuxes were soon behind us as it was just us too on the balcony.

"I thought that you wouldn't be able to hear me clearly if I sang then and there..." Fukase said quietly resting his arms on the firm railing and not meeting my eyes.

"I'm glad you were thoughtful enough to let me have a clear experience." I said shyly.

"I'm not just a powerful voice you know..." Fukase muttered.

"Huh?"

"garandou no muro no naka ni shiawase o"

It wasn't a second after he slowly began sinking softly. I sat there baffled, unable to move or speak. I wasn't even aware of his....whisper voicebank? He sang low, soft, and slow, calming the tense feeling I had earlier instantly. He continued on from there, as if he was just there on the balcony himself. Staring up into the stars without a care in the world.

When he came to the end, all sound that was left was the sound of nearby crickets and the muffled music behind us. He turned his head over to look at me with a smile. His eyes glowed waiting for my response, just starring at me. But somehow, it felt more soothing then the one he gave in the ballroom. The orbs of crimson were more luminescent out here and caught my attention the most. People described them as pools of lava and blood. Or possibly the rages of fire in hell. But for me...all I saw were rubies. Gems. It was unexplainable. A color taught to be so menacing was making me feel warm right at this moment.

"W-Wow...." Were the words that stumbled out of my mouth. I almost face-palmed myself for actually saying that.

"I don't really use my soft voice bank often..." He said trailing off. "Nor am I normally assigned to sing with others."

".....What?"

"What I sung was an original of mine....Otogi is the Country of Silver...well actually it's kind of a duet..." he muttered.

"Duet? With who?" I asked inching closer with curiosity.

His face flushed a red that rivaled his hair. "Ah...well I'm singing the lyrics really...they are like a harmony or er background voice for the most part..."

"Really?" I asked.

"I was asked to um...ask you to be that voice." He said slowly looking at me.

"Wait what?"

"Well um...The producer described your voice as soft and angelic so they wanted you to sing the part. But you know, I wasn't sure if I was comfortable singing with another person and-"

"I'd love too." I said stopping his rambling. He paused before giving me a relieved smile.

"Great. Mind if I um...try something?"

I game him a confused look before deciding to go along. "Sure...what do you have in mi- Ah!" He picked me up and sat me on the railing. Thankfully the railing was thick in width, but still, I looked down behind me to see a endless pit of darkness before looking back at Fukase.

"Don't worry. I won't let you fall." He wrapped his arms around my waist and I slightly held on his shoulders for support. "I just wanted to compare your eye to the stars for a moment. It's golden. Like if it'd were a star, it'd be flying across the sky by now." He said looking up at me with appreciation. I had trouble getting words out of my mouth to this. Resulting in me awkwardly slightly opening my mouth without any words and closing it back up again. I mean...how would someone reply to this?! "Say...do you mind if I...see the other one too?" He slowly asked.

"...the....other one?" I repeated.

Nodding his head he continued on. "I'm sure it'd be just as wonderful." He said slowly rubbing his thumb against the edge of my bandage.

"Ah well no I wouldn't exactly say that...." I said shaking off his hand.

"It's alright. Maybe some other day then." He said. Before I could respond, he went on his toes a bit to kiss the side of my temple with the bandage on it since I was still sitting on the railing. "It'll be like a mystery."

I gave him a smirk. "Questioning appearances are we? Well then, was this 'x' on your nose for?" I asked poking it. Taken aback, he shook his head and chuckled. Making my heart skip a beat.

"Who knows. Maybe to just stand out."

"Well...." I said meeting him in the eyes again. "'X' does mark the spot you know..." I quickly kissed his nose in a light manner and pulled back slightly.

He chuckled again through a blushing face. "I guess so."

"Hey....how about we sing the song. As a duet. Then maybe afterwards you can tell me what the lyrics mean." I suggested, he smiled.

"Oh you'll love it."
