Miku and Kokone had approached me after dismissing themselves with the lively blonde twins Rin and Len. Their heels clinked on the ballroom title that was so clear it reflected the painted ceiling. Streams of golden light from hanging chandeliers had shone down on all of the attendees dancing the night away. Large windows rounded up at the top had also pooled in the light of dazzling stars of the night sky.

"I didn't think you'd come Fukase, you were never one for celebrations. Including ones with dancing." Miku said, starting the conversation.

"Well I suppose the marriage of prince Yohioloid and princess Maika was a valid reason enough to come." I responded, adjusting the ends of my sleeves. I prepared myself for any hostility that would slip into the discussion. Miku narrowed her eyes to my reply, ready to test me.

"Or is it that you were dragged here because your father is trying to wed you instead? Trying to show you the miracle of marriage perhaps?" She sneered, earning a forced cough from me that made Kokone jolt. She guessed right on the dot. Though her reasoning was entirely valid. Miku flipped out the fan she held to hide her smirk.

"I think I'd rather rule lonesome then migrate between fiancés." I countered, flashing a winning smirk of my own. Even though I couldn't see for myself, I could tell her lips that curled upward had been stricken down to disdain.

Miku was graceful and beautiful, yet you'd be a fool to think of her as a damsel in distress. Once you turn to walk away she would have an iron cold glare if she ever found you displeasing. However, it just so happens that she wouldn't attempt to hide this fact if it was towards me, exasperating as it was. Not to also mention how she shamelessly flaunts her wealth in everything she does, including tonight's ball gown.

Kokone had her head in a book and didn't talk much, but was a skilled tactician in managing her kingdom's production alongside her mother. She befriended Miku to tune into her conversations and pick out underproduction issues some of the royals might complain about. After hearing this, she'd make a striking deal to that kingdom in need of supply in exchange for their horses and fine jewels that her kingdom lacked.

Miku and Kokone then carried on to another group nearby and greeted them. Too ashamed to come up with a comeback I suppose. I rolled my eyes at their leeching process to get a few kicks and deals in. It's like all the princes and princesses here have never actually had a true conversation when they had personal benefits on their minds.

After the pair left, I decided it would be best to find the wedded couple and congratulate them so I can quickly fetch a ride back to Auprithia. Stabbing a hay stuffed sack would've been much more fun then this anyways. Slipping through pairs and circles, I had found myself face to face with Yohio's father, the king of Chiseon.

"Ah, Auprithia's prince. Fukase yes? How's the party so far?"

"It's alright, I wanted to congratulate your son but unfortunately I've been unsuccessful in finding him." I said staring off at the windows.

"I will be sure to pass on your word. You'll be able to greet him and his wedded alongside my proclamation since I've had yet to thank everyone for coming. Say, where's your betrothed? Surely you didn't leave them unaccompanied?"

I shook my head, although I've really much would have liked to avoid this question, I've plastered on a grin as courtesy. "No sir, I've told my father I've had no interests in those around me."
