Chapter One: First Contact with the Traveler

Humanity. A species that was unlike any other that we shared this planet with. We learned to create new things. We had learned to roam vast expanses of the Earth, and to use the resources to how we see fit. We created books and writing to converse this knowledge, to spread what we believed was good. But we knew that with knowledge, came danger. We quickly began to realize that knowledge comes at a price, and for some, that price was our own blood. We fought wars against each other in what we believed in. World War Two is a great example of this. It was humanity's most trying time. The Third Reich seen that Germany's defeat in World War One was the cause of the Jewish people. This was followed up by the rise of Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany at the time. He rounded up and killed Jewish people in collection, and sought to take over Europe, and possibly the world. But, when the evil of humanity becomes strong, the good of it rises to that challenge.

Humanity. We are a species of undying lust for knowledge and understanding of what happens around us. That's when we first discovered the Traveler, a spherical object floating near Mars. Fourteen months after it's discovery, three of Humanity's finest explorers prepared to step foot on Mars, and make first contact with the Traveler. A Chinese Taikonaut, an American Astronaut, and a Russian Cosmonaut stepped out of their landing craft, and began the mission called Ares 1, named after the Greek god of war, who in Roman mythology is named Mars. After days and nights walking towards the Traveler, they soon came to realize that it was terraforming the planet. They were the first to experience the first Martian rains, and set their eyes on the Traveler. This would begin what is known as Humanity's Golden Age. A time of great accomplishments, in which we made many wonders, that are now lost to time...
