Refugees began to pile up. Survivors of all walks of life, sprang to life, and walked the cold and nearly dead earth again. What they had seen wasn't as they remembered it. Death lingered in the air, but with the Darkness fled, it was short lived. They made their journey to underneath the Traveler, where it had it's climactic battle against the Darkness. Camps began to form, with protection granted by the risen with the Traveler's light. But, with the construction of civilization at full swing, it was fought over how the civilization shall be lead. Violence began to crop up with the foundation of rudimentary factions. Had no one stood up against the violence, humanity could have easily been wiped away.
And with each faction abiding to set their differences aside, they brought up the Vanguard. Three people holding immense power offered by the light, each governing their body of people serving under the same unique abilities they had. These were the Warlock, Hunter, and Titan. Should an act between all three of the Vanguard come to be accepted, it will be passed to the Speaker, grand leader of the City and it's people, and ruler of the Guardian Orders. The construction and protection of the City, the protection and trust formed by the Vanguard, the reliance and good will of the Guardians will be put to a test.
The alien species that had come in by force after the Collapse, whom have taken root in our vast colonies. In the European Dead Zone, the Swamps of Old Chicago, and the Cosmodrome of Baikonaut. The first great enemy to the City to show itself was the Fallen. The City faced incursions by these crazed creatures, whom were previously known as the Eliksni, but in light of the Traveler's absence, they became much more savage. The Titans of the City devised a plan, and began to build walls surrounding the City, and keep those they protected safe from harm. But this wasn't to say that the Fallen had given up on getting their one true prize.
The House of Devils gathered up large numbers and trotted to the City. But, the Titans of the City caught wind of the act, and formed a bastion on the six approaches of the City. The Fallen and City artillery and soldiers clashed, and the City won the battle. This was their greatest trial, and they won. This battle was known to the Titan order as the Battle of the Six Fronts.
In the midst of the Battle of the Six Fronts, one of the defenders was a Warlock, teeming with notoriety. According to eyewitness accounts, he appeared to be fighting in multiple places at once. This Warlock was Osiris, and so many people of the City began to speak of him and his power. Most notable of these people was the Titan, Saint-14, who nominated Osiris to the Speaker for position as Warlock Vanguard. The relationship of the Speaker and Saint-14 that they were like son and father to one another. They took great appreciation to each other's words, and so the Speaker considered it, and appointed Osiris to Warlock Vanguard. He even considered teaching him what he knew, in the event that he would become the new Speaker.
One voice that spoke against Osiris and the Speaker was Lysander of the Concordact. He claimed Osiris to be a faulty resurrection by a damaged ghost, or merely misincarnated.
New legends began to emerge. The Iron Lords, lead by Lord Radegast, and his team of other lords: Jolder, Perun, and Saladin. They fought in a battle against five opposing Warlords, which dawned on Radegast. He seen that Guardians should not spill each others blood and live in fear in one another. He believed that the Guardians should rise together and unite, like the knights of old, before the Golden Age.
In an effort to restore his faith in the reconstruction of civilization, him and his fellow Iron Lords sought out Siva. When their search brought fruit to them, in the area known as the Plaguelands. But their expectations were lead to downfall. Radegast, Jolder, Perun, Saladin, and four other Iron Lords opened the chamber where it was concealed. But, this began a great fight, leading to the fall of the Iron Lords, except Saladin. In order to seal the chamber once and for all, to prevent harm to the outside world to occur, they planted explosives in the chamber, but were trapped inside. The others had to sacrifice themselves, and another to lead the Iron Lord name through history. This came down to Saladin, who escaped the chamber, leaving the others behind.
After the death of his only company and his best friend, he realized that Guardians can die for good. He became the caretaker of the Iron Temple, which rested high on Felwinter. Nothing was spoken of the Iron Lords, until later. That will be discussed much later.
