((So, it's been pointed out to me that I've really shied from the whole revenge thing and focused too much on the love aspect. Terribly sorry about that. Sorry if this chapter seems rushed, but I don't want to drag this story out and I have other stories to finish as well. So here's the next to last chapter. Enjoy!!!))
"Are you sure you still want to do this?" Sebastian asked one finale time. "Even if we complete the contract, I'll still keep you alive. I could never take your soul even if I wanted to. I love you too much."
"I love you, too," Maria smiled as she carefully slipped her black tank top on over her head and turned her head to look at him. She was still extremely sore and having terrible headaches from her little death scare, but she couldn't give up now. Not when they were so close. "However, I need to do this. They may not have been my sisters by blood, but they were my family, and they deserve more than having their bodies burned to ash. Please, don't try to stop me." She picked up her knee high heeled boots and slipped them over her form fitting pants.
Sebastian sighed before coming over and sitting next to her on the bed, lightly kissing her forehead. "I couldn't stop you even if I tried. Besides, you've still got the contract hanging over me. It's not like I can go against your word right now."
"And don't you forget it," Maria chuckled as she pressed her lips to his in a soft yet passionate kiss.
"Master Sebastian. Lady Maria," Claude called after knocking on the door. The two broke apart and looked to it. "The car is ready to leave."
"Alright. Thank you, Claude," Sebastian called back before turning to her again. "Are you ready?" He stood and picked up her leather jacket, holding it up for her to put on.
"As I'll ever be," Maria replied, taking a deep breath and standing, turning around and putting her arms through the sleeves of her jacket. Sebastian adjusted it on her shoulders as she pulled the front forward, making sure she was dressed for the part.
Downstairs, the entire mansion household was waiting for them at the front door. James' back was to them, leaving him completely vulnerable. Maria quickly snuck up behind him and grabbed his sides, shouting 'Boo!'. Poor James screamed like a little girl who'd just seen a bug.
"What the heck, Lady Maria?" James asked as he turned around, a shocked expression on his face, everyone around him bursting into laughter. "Why did you do that?"
"Because it is funny," Maria laughed.
James' look turned from shock to surprise then back to shock as he looked her deep in the eyes for a moment. His eyes widened as he covered his trembling mouth, tears brimming in his green eyes. "Oh my God."
"What? What's the matter?" Sage asked, slightly confused.
Intense knocking at the front door interrupted James' explanation.
Claude walked forward immediately and pulled it open, about to speak when Ciel and Elizabeth came bursting through it.
Ciel searched the room quickly before her eyes landed on Sebastian. "We received your message. Is it true? Did she really..." He paused when Sebastian turned his head and looked at Maria, who was still standing beside James, her eyes wide with clarity.
"Please... Don't let this be a joke... Just tell us now if it's a joke.... We're old. We can't take this kind of torture... Please," Elizabeth said pleadingly as she looked at Maria, her emerald eyes nearly overflowing with tears.
Maria's eyes flattened against her head as she opened her mouth and let the words flow like a verse from the Bible she'd learned over years of reading the same pages.
