"Pierre? Hey Pierre, wake up!"

"Desmund, calm down."

"Hey buddy, you alive?'

"Des--"

"Pierre! C'mon, man, open your eyes."

Noises. Too much noises. Annoying noises.

"You said he woke up a while ago, right? Then why isn't he waking up now?"

"Des, you--"

"Pierre!"

If forcing my eyes open would tone down this noise, then so be it. Summoning all the little strength I believed I had, I begrudgingly lifted my eyelids. But it wasn't long before I had to close them when the same root of all the noise screamed, causing a small headache to strike my forehead.

"Lance! He's conscious!"

I attempted lifting my eyelids again, and when the my sight finally began to gain focus, a pair of blue doe-like eyes and a mop of brown hair was what I first saw.

And at a very close proximity; way too close for comfort, mind you.

I jerked up in surprise, bumping foreheads with the person in the process. Either in bewilderment or in pain, said person exclaimed and lost balance, resulting into a pretty harsh encounter with the floor. I swear I heard him groan underneath the bed.

Rubbing my throbbing forehead, I curled into a tiny ball, burying my head between my knees. That hurt.

"Pierre?"

A looming presence stood on the other side of the bed, and I took that as the cue to look up, despite the aching head. Gentle golden eyes instantly locked with mine, flooding with worry; though I can see that he's trying to conceal it

"Hey, you okay?"

"Shouldn't you be asking me that, Lance?" There was another grunt from the floor. The former lad rose, hand rubbing his own head as well. "I was the one assaulted!"

"It was your fault for looming that close over him, nonetheless." The second man ran a hand over the crown of silver white hair on his head, sparing him a deadpanned glance before returning to me. "How're you feeling, Pierre?"

Pierre?

"I wasn't expecting a headbutt from you so early in the morning, though." The brown haired one added. Then he grinned; a huge toothy grin so wide it made my chest feel heavy for some unknown reason.

Then he slapped my back.

Hard.

"It's glad to have you back, buddy. Thought you're never getting off this bed anymore." The brunette said, the grin never leaving his face, obviously ignoring my coughs from his assault.

"You worried us. Don't don't do that again, ya hear?" The silver head heaved a sigh, crossing his arms.

I stared at him.

I didn't understand.

What did I do to worry them?

What should I not be doing again?

Why did they think I'd never get off the bed?

How did I get here, anyway?

And most importantly...

"Who are you?"

It only took for those three words leaving my mouth to immediately plunge the room's atmosphere into silence. Thick silence.
