Sam wrapped his arms around me and I sobbed into his chest.
I tried to be quiet because there are other people here, but at the same time I couldn't care less.
A few minutes later I'm able to calm myself down.
The waitress decided to come with the food right at that moment.
She laid the food down in front of the guys and when she handed me my coffee she noticed my face.
I just looked away as the look of curiosity and sadness filled her eyes.
"Its OK, she's just bipolar," Dean assured Hayley.
She didn't say anything and I wasn't looking at her to see if she did anything.
She walked off and I wadded a napkin together then threw it at Dean.
"What the hell?" He said looking at me.
"That's for saying I'm bipolar," I said taking a sip of my coffee.
It was still really hot.
"Would you have liked me to tell her the truth?" He asked taking a big bite of his omelet.
Sam put a piece of his omelet in his biscuit and also a small sausage patty then took a bite.
I ended up stealing one of his sausage patties and he didn't say anything.
I leaned back in the booth and nibbled on it.
"How about you tell us what happened?" Sam asked gently after swallowing.
I took a deep breath and started.
"The thunderstorm ended up blowing the power out where I live," I stopped. "Lived," I corrected. "So Jason and I just went to bed a little early.
He didn't want to be alone, so I let him sleep in my bed with me."
I took a sip of my coffee.
"About an hour later, right before I fell asleep, a noise caught my attention. It was coming from downstairs. I left Jason sleeping soundly in my room and I went downstairs to investigate."
I took a rattled breath.
"God, I'm so stupid," I cursed myself.
The guys gave a weird look.
"I didn't find anything suspicious, so I went back upstairs. As I was going up the stairs I smelled it."
I stopped for a second.
"I should have noticed it before, but I screwed up!" I exasperated. "I smelled sulphur, and there's nothing in that house that gives off that smell. The power was still out, so I couldn't even think about finding my weapons that I hide from Jason. I crept around to find the damn thing. As I was looking around for it and slowly making my way back to Jason, I knew that the noise from downstairs had been a distraction."
Another drink of coffee.
"Lightning struck and I saw it standing there," I continued. "It was just standing there, staring at me, watching and waiting. I didn't move. Lightning struck a few second lager and it was gone from my sight. I hear another noise ahead of me in my parents room and I rush to it. I find the demon with Jason clutched in his arms standing on the edge of the balcony. Next thing I know it steps over the ledge and is gone," I finish.
Then I remembered something.
"Plus, one of those lightning strikes hit my house and caught it on fire, so I also had to jump over the ledge of the balcony. Thankfully there's a pool basically under it,"
I may have left out a one or two things, but I wanted to wait until I understood what they meant.
The guys were quiet for a moment, both paused eating to think.
"Do you know what the demon was?" Dean asked.
"Or exactly what it wanted?" Sam asked.
"Or why?" Dean asked
I shook my head even though I had a clue-from the demon-about what it wanted and why.
We were all quiet and they continued to eat.
I looked across the diner at the little TV they had.
It was on mute or it was just too quiet for me to hear from here, but I could see what was on the screen.
What was on the screen made me freeze, but then I tapped Sam repeatedly on the arm, not taking my eyes off the screen.
"What?" Sam asked a mouth full of food.
"Time to go," I said pushing his arm gently.
I tried to get him to get up.
"What, why?" He asked looking at me.
"I'm not done eating," Dean complained.
One of the waitress's was watching the TV and called another one up.
Totally time to go.
I pushed Sam harder.
"Now," I said giving one last shove.
Sam got up before I pushed off his seat.
It must have been something in my voice, cause Dean got the idea that we were leaving.
I grabbed his arm and Dean's just as he took another bite as I pulled him.
He took one last bite and aloud me to drag them out of the diner.
Sam quickly turned around and left money on the table. I grabber his arm again.
I rushed them back to the motel.
Sam fumbled for the key.
"Hurry," I hissed.
I looked back at the diner waiting for one of the waitress's to come looking for us.
He got the door open and I shoved them inside and shut the door behind me.
"Want to explain why you pulled me a way from my breakfast?" Dean asked grumpily.
I just grabbed the TV remote and turned the TV on.
I easily found the channel.
" 'Unnamed sources have told me that the grandparents didn't even know they were the guardians of Ashley and Jason. They never got word of it and Ashley and Jason never showed up at their house.
" 'We can now confirm that Ashley and Jason Colt have been kidnapped and we have no idea how long ago they were. ' "
Once again our pictures appears on the screen of the TV.
I switched it off and Sam and Dean slowly turned and stared at me.
A mixture of different emotions showed on each of their faces.
"OK, never mind about the diner, how about you tell us about that?" Dean asked pointing at the TV.
I bit my bottom lip, not wanting to answer it.
"About what?" I asked playing dumb.
I knew they wouldn't by it, but it never hurt to try.
"Ashley," Sam warned.
I sighed and sat down on Dean's unmade bed.
