I opened my eyes slowly.
I expected my head to be pounding, thinking that was all one of my nightmares, but I didn't.
Instead I was welcomed by a sight I wasn't expecting.
I shot up in bed and looked around.
I was in my old rooms the one in my old house back in Lawrence.
It didn't look exactly the same, no, now it was more mature looking.
This wasn't right, I thought.
I slowly got out of bed.
My feet were met by something soft and furry.
I looked down to see a baby blue fluffy looking rug.
I also saw that I was only in my boy shorts underwear and a black spaghetti strap-my usual pjs-but that's not what attracted my attention.
My tattoos were gone.
I felt my eyes widen.
What? I asked myself.
I shook it off.
I walked towards my door and opened it slowly.
The halls were dark.
The only light was coming from the window next to the stairs.
The moon was full and lit the hall up.
I walked to the window and looked out.
Across the way of our property was the Winchesters house.
Seeing the house made a bunch of memories fly through my mind.
The time Sam chased me with a snake he had caught, so for payback I shoved a worm down his throat.
Neither of us got into trouble-mainly because we didn't get caught-but because our parents saw it as "child's play."
I saw their rather large shed which held as our training room.
I remembered beating Deans ass at hand to hand combat.
I still tease him about it even though that was like ten years ago.
I also remembered him kissing me when he was nine and I was seven, I punched in the jaw and ran off.
I heard a noise behind me.
I whipped around but didn't see anything.
I crept back the way I came.
I saw the cupboard that sat across from my door.
That's where we always kept the emergency weapons.
I opened to grab a knife, but it was filled with towels and sheets and a a couple blankets.
I gave the sight a confused look then slowly shut the door of the cupboard.
I walked down a little ways down, and saw Jason's old bedroom.
Pain and guilt shot through me.
I quietly opened the door, just hoping he was back.
I saw his bed, neatly made, without him in it.
I sighed and left the room.
I saw my parents room and slowly walked towards it.
I didn't want to open it, but I could hear a sound, too quiet for me to make out.
I opened it a crack.
I saw two shapes lying under the covers, one of them softly snoring.
I raised an eyebrow and took a few steps into the room.
I recognized those snores to be my dads.
I took another step closer.
The figure not snoring turned over onto their side, facing me.
The face I saw made me gasp.
I ran over to the bed and jumped onto the two sleeping people.
"MOM! DAD!" I yelled.
They jumped and sat up quickly.
Their eyes were fuzzy with sleep, but at the same time, wide awake.
My parents looked at me and relaxed.
"Ashley, honey, what was that for?" Mom asked groggily.
She rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
"I've missed you!" I said pulling them both into a tight hug.
I felt tears brimming my eyes.
Mom and Dad both chuckled.
"We say you not even four hours ago," Dad said.
Humor was in his voice.
I pulled back and looked at them.
Moms long brunette hair was in a loose pony tail, her soft blue eyes watching me curiously.
Dad's short black hair was messy from sleeping, and his brown eyes also watched me.
I got most of my looks from my mom.
I have long amber brunette hair, cobalt blue eyes, and her smooth natural sun kissed skin.
Jason got dads looks.
Side swept black hair, slightly wavy, chocolate brown eyes, and pale skin, and glasses.
"Buy, I haven't seen you for five years," I said softly.
My parents shared a side glance then looked back at me.
"Were you having a nightmare?" My dad said.
I paused.
Maybe I'm in a nightmare, now.
Maybe my subconscious is really missing my parents, so I'm dreaming of my parents.
No, I was fighting that demon and then I blacked out.
Maybe, I'm dreaming from that.
If I was dreaming I didn't want to ruin this moment.
I smiled weakly and nodded.
"Go back to sleep, sweetie, it was just a bad dream," Mom said.
I nodded an left the room.
If this was a dream, where's Jason?
I turn around.
"Where's Jason?" I asked.
"He spending the night at Peters, remember?" Dad asked.
I nodded.
"Yeah, sorry, I'm just tired," I said.
I smiled at my parents and left the room, closing the door behind me.
I didn't want to go back to sleep though.
I headed back to the stairs and went down them.
There's something wrong with this, all of this.
Even if I was in a dream.
I go through the house and look at all the pictures.
I find a family picture for every year.
I find random pictures of random moments.
I go over to the coat closet by the door.
I reach up onto the shelf, expecting to find a knife.
Nothing.
My eyebrows furrowed.
Where's all the emergency weapons?
What did that demon do to me?
I know he made me pass out, but this isn't something my subconscious would come up with.
I need to fin out what kind of demon that was.
The thing that's killing me, is that I know what it is, I just can't put my finger on it.
I make my way down the hall and enter my dad's office.
My parents may have stopped hunting when I was born, but they always kept the books about demons and hunting.
I look at the wall of books behind his desk.
None of them are about demons and hunting.
Instead there all random.
Things about science, philosophy, and other random crap.
Something was definitely wrong.
I left Dads office and went back up to my room.
I shut the door quietly and turned my light on.
The wall to my right was four to five shelves full of books.
There was random opening in between some and in the spot was a picture frame.
I looked at the books.
There was a combination of detective likes books-like training books-and books on learning phycology and human behavior.
What?!
I hated cops and detectives as much as Sam and Dean hate them, and I already know about phycology and human behavior.
I look at the pictures and find that there of Dean and I or of Sam, Dean, and I.
I had other pictures around my room of us, or of me and family, and some with someone I didn't know.
I see a college book laying on my nightstand.
I've never gone to college, I thought.
What the hell is happening?
A few hours later the sun comes up and I decide to take a shower.
After my shower and look for something to wear.
My closet was full of color with dresses, skirts, and cute tops.
Where's my spaghetti straps, flannels, and jeans?
I found one of my spaghetti straps in the back of my closet and jeans.
They look as if I haven't touched them in forever.
I slip them on and call it good.
I leave my damp hair as is and go down the stairs.
Mom was up and making something yummy smelling.
"Are you hungry?" She asked me not turning around.
How do mother do that?
"Not really," I tell her.
She turned around a smiled at me.
"I bought fruit salad just for you," She said.
My eyes widened and I rushed the fridge.
Mom laughed and got back to making pancakes.
I grabbed one of the individual packs of fruit salad and grab a fork.
I hop up on the counter and eat.
"What happened to all the demon things?" I asked with some fruit in my mouth.
She looked over her shoulder at me, a confused look pointed my way.
She walked over to me and felt my forehead and cheeks.
"Are you feeling alright?" She asked me sounding concerned.
She doesn't know about demons, I realized.
"Yeah, why?" I asked pretending like nothing was wrong.
She just shook her head and went back to the stove.
I was quiet for a moment.
"I'm going to go to the library," I said finishing my fruit salad.
"I thought you were hanging out with Dean today?" She asked.
"He can come with," I said raising a brow.
"Honey, you know he's not a reader," She said with an amused smile.
I shrugged and headed for the stairs.
"Ashley?" Moms voice stopped me.
I turned and faced her.
"Is there something wrong between the two of you?" She asked.
She sounded concerned.
I shook my head, confused.
"No, why?" I asked.
"With him being your boyfriend and everything," She started.
I froze and I didn't hear anything else that she said.
My boyfriend?
Dean?
What?!
I rushed up to my room.
Sure, I liked him.
He was definitely hot, he's always been nice to me.
Well nicer than he is to others.
And sure, maybe I've had a small crush on him, since I was like seven, but him actually my girlfriend?
Dean doesn't do girlfriends.
He does one night stands.
I grabbed my phone and I noticed it was automatically in my pictures.
I went through them quickly.
I had a lot of pictures of Dean and I.
I noticed we were closer than we usually would be in most of the pictures.
Ok, now I KNOW something is off.
I needed to find out what kind of demon that was, and quick.
I bound down the stairs quickly and open the front door.
I found Dean standing there, arm raised to knock on my door.
He lowered his arm and smiled at me.
I saw he was holding a single white rose.
My favorite flower.
I didn't know he knew that.
Well, maybe he doesn't, but dream Dean does.
"Morning, babe," He said kissing my cheek.
At his words my stomach did a little flip flop and I felt heat climb up my neck.
I pushed it away.
"Morning," I said softly.
"I got you a rose," He said handing me the beautiful white rose.
I took it and smelled it.
It smelled wonderful.
"Thank you," I said.
"Where were you off to?" He asked.
I closed the front door and walked down the front stairs, Dean at my side.
He took my hand and interwound his fingers with mine.
The butterflies in my stomach intensified.
"I need to go to the library," I said.
He rolled his eyes.
"Come on, let's do something more fun than that!" He said with enthusiasm.
That made me smile.
"Sorry, but I have a paper due tomorrow and I haven't even started it," I said.
The lie quickly and easily rolled off my tongue.
Over the years, you learn to lie easily and quickly.
His brows raised in surprise.
"Ashley Colt waited to do her homework until the last minute?" He said sarcastically.
Then he stopped and watched me carefully.
"Who are you and what have you done with my girlfriend?" He suddenly asked.
I laughed, but at 'girlfriend' the butterflies went nuts again.
We walked tithe library which was nearby.
"So, what's the topic?" He asked.
"Demons," I said.
I watched for his reaction.
He just looked confused.
"Demons in a phycology class?" He asked.
I nodded.
"More specifically, the Seven Deadly Sins," I said.
"Ohhh, that makes more since," He said.
Which, weirdly did.
I found the mythological section and grabbed a few different books.
Dean waited at a table in the back.
I set the books on the table as started flipping through the pages.
I was looking for a certain picture.
I saw the picture of the demon Im looking for fly past.
I went back a few pictures.
The picture looked exactly like what attacked me.
I read the passage.
I felt tears in my eyes at the end.
"This is a dream," I said quietly.
I looked at the picture.
Hatred is all I felt looking at the picture.
"This IS a dream, a happy and bad dream," I whispered sadly.
