Lucy's P.O.V.
"YES!!!!" I screamed in joy as I ran through Magnolia, Natsu desperately trying- and failing- to keep up with me. Another week passed, and I was finally all better. Meaning.... drum roll please.... I COULD GO ON A JOB. I tossed a glance back at Natsu, and slowed my pace. He caught up, and without saying a word wrapped his arms around my waist, slinging me over his shoulder. I squealed in surprise, but then crossed my arms in a pouting suggestion.
"Why'd ya do that for?" I asked, annoyed. Natsu chuckled.
"So that you don't run off. Take a chill pill or something..."
"Says the Salamander," I noted, earning a huff.
"Rude!"
"Nuh-uh." I protested, and looked around for a way to escape. That's when I saw Happy; he was flying towards us at Max Speed, an amused glint in his eye. I pleaded to him with my eyes for help, and after a few moments of this, his two little paws were on my shoulder, lifting me into the air. Natsu spun around and tried to grab me, but Happy simply soared higher. I laughed in delight as Natsu started ranting about how cruel this was. After a moment or so of this, I felt bad for poor little Natsu and told Happy to let me down. The blue exceed complied to my request, however he promised to stay close in case I were to change my mind. I giggled, thanking him, and touched down in front of Natsu. Before I could apologize- or say anything, really- (forgive me for my fragments >.<)Natsu locked his arms around me so tightly it hurt a little. Repositioning myself to where I was leaning into his chest, my mate turned us around and went towards his house. I immediately reached down to my keys and summoned Loki. Smirking at us, he just stood there.
"Loki. How nice to see you again," Natsu grinned.
"Ah, same to you Natsu."
"Erm.... Loki... help?" I asked, stretching my hands out like a little kid. "He want lemme go to the guild."
"Oh- couple quarrel. I'mma stay outta this..."
"LOKI?!" I cried out in shock. Chuckling, he came into step beside Natsu. The two of them made idle chit-chat as I was toted backwards. I took a deep breath, summoned all my will power, then snaked around Natsu until I was on his back.
"OH- piggyback ri-"
"Kyaa~" I gave out a small battle cry as I jumped off in the other direction, running frantically towards the guild. I heard the heavy footsteps of both boys not too far behind, and whistled. Diving out of nowhere, Happy grabbed onto my shoulder once again and flew me straight into the guild hall. People stopped what they were doing to watch, but like a squirrel I climbed the banisters and beams until I was on the ceiling, holding onto small wooden beams laying horizontally, forming small places easy to sit on. Gray and Erza stared up and shouted for me to come down- that it wasn't safe up here. I merely shook my head and locked my eyes on the front door as Loki and Natsu came in.
"Where's Luce?" Natsu asked, panting. Seeing it as a game of tag between Natsu and I or something, Cana burst out laughing, shortly followed by everyone else. Natsu growled in frustration, but sadly he was pretty smart and realized he could sniff me out. Lifting his head, he sniffed the air for my scent, which he clearly caught when his eyes met mine. Wordlessly he shimmied up beams and rails until he was ten feet away from me. Nine feet... seven feet.... four feet.... yelping, I leaped down and rolled across the guild floor, hiding behind Erza.
"Protect meh." I whined, looking up at her pleadingly. She giggled, and nodded. Natsu was tumbling towards us, so it was easy for her to slightly extend her arm and... Natsu laid sprawled on the floor after she'd up-cut him. Groaning, he mumbled some non-flattering words to himself and stood, reaching towards me with big tears in his eyes.
"Lucy! You're being so mean to me..." Don't do it... don't do it... don't do it.... He jutted out his bottom lip, and my resolve turned to jelly. He did it. Unable to stop myself, I reached out and comforted Natsu, petting his head. This earned us cooing from our fellow members of Fairy Tail. I waited for a moment or two, knowing I could take him by surprise, before jerking away completely and sprinting to the request board, scanning it for a job I liked. I found one for 350,000 jewel, asking for someone to recover a stolen book- Minnelli- from a group of rogue wizards. Pulling it off the board, I walked over to Master and Mira, holding it up and pointing. They both nodded, and so I folded it, placing it in my purse. I looked around the guild quickly, searching for Natsu- who was searching for me. I bolted out and away from the guild, to my own house. Packing the necessities in a pink duffel that was easy to keep on my back, I ran downstairs and paid the landlady for this month and headed for the train station. Happy flew and landed on my shoulder, grinning.
"I'm coming," he informed me. I grinned back, and nodded.
"Sounds like a plan," I bought our tickets at the train station, which we boarded and bought food from the cart. For Happy, he got fish. For myself, I bought strawberry cake. Snacking on our meals, there was a comfortable silence between us as he and I stared outside the window and at the pink haired boy waving frantically at us to stop. How nice. The roads were clear and- WAIT. Pink haired boy... NATSU. He was yelling our names and telling us to "get off that train right now before I ground both of you for a month". I covered my mouth, laughing, while Happy merely waved back and munched on a fish. As the train sped up, we left Natsu behind, his hair becoming a blurry swirl of pink in the background as the distance between us grew. I sat back in my seat, finishing my cake. It would be interesting when Happy and I returned from the job.
