Lucy's P.O.V.

I sat in front of my mirror, applying a small amount of mascara to my eyelashes as a finishing touch. In about ten minutes, Natsu would be here to pick me up, and we'd be going out to dinner. I'd asked him to take me to a simple place- like a diner. Fancy dinner wasn't exactly his style. He'd reluctantly agreed. So, I had my hair straightened and left down, light make-up, and astral leggings to a blue long-sleeved sweater. I slid my feet into a pair of black leather boots, and a couple bangle golden bracelets on my wrist. Once I was pleased with how I looked, I stepped backward and analyzed my appearance once last time. It was silly, but I had to have everything done perfectly. This was, after all, my first date with Natsu. My heart fluttered a little when I heard him knocking on the door. I turned out the light, grabbed my purse and checked to make sure I had everything I needed twice as I walked to the front door. I opened it, and sure enough, there stood Natsu, grinning. I was taken back by his appearance. He looked slightly different than usual. I realized that it was because he had jeans and a light blue button-up shirt on, leather shoes... his scarf was around his neck as always, which let me relax a bit. This was a rarity for him. He never dressed in a different style- his vest and usual breeches with sandals and his scarf was the norm outfit. Still, I smiled and took his outstretched hand, shutting and locking the door behind me.

"You look amazing," I acknowledged. He chuckled.

"Hey! I was going to say that to you. Pick-up line thief," I giggled at this.

"You'll get over it."

"I won't!"

"You totally will."

"You're right... I will. If you kiss me."

"Pft. Really?"

"I'm being dead serious." I sighed as he stopped and faced me. We were standing in front of him and Happy's favorite diner.

"Natsu-" he puckered his lips and made a kissing noise. I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior before pecking his lips. When I went to turn away he pressed his lips against mine and gave me a proper kiss. I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear as we pulled apart and walked in. We ordered our food and sat, waiting for it.

"So, I was thinking we could go on a job pretty soon, Luce. Just you, me, and Happy."

"I can't work when I'm with you though," I complained.

"Are you implying that I get in the way?!" Natsu practically yelled. I cupped a hand over his mouth.

"I'm implying that I find you.... very distracting."

"I get in the way," Natsu repeated. I shook my head.

"No. But when I'm with you, I want to give you my undivided attention." Silence.

"Lawl~ You love me!" He exclaimed happily. I shrugged.

"You asked me out buddy. Pretty sure that means you love me too-"

"With all my heart," he interrupted. "I love you more than the sky loves the stars."

"OH- celestial flirting, huh? You're smooth..."I teased, earning a pouting boyfriend.

"You ruined mah awesome sweet moment."

"Oh well. What can you do?" I said nonchalantly.

"You can kiss me again," he suggested. I shook my head.

"Nope. No more PDA for us Mister!" I wagged my finger at him in a scolding matter.

"Oh, look. There's our waitress."

"Oh." I turned my head, and didn't see her. "I don't see her-" I was cut off by Natsu pecking my lips. I shook my head at him, but didn't say anything about it. Shortly after this, our food was brought. He took no time in chowing down, while I ate mine slowly. All in all, we finished at about the same time. I was already pretty full, but Natsu insisted on desert.

"We'll split it," he offered. I shook my head.

"I can't. I'm full." I whined, sipping on my water. I know, most girls eat beforehand so that they look like they don't eat much. I don't do that. One: Natsu knows me, so it would be ridiculous. I wouldn't be fooling him. Two: that would be a waste of his money, since he refused to even let me pay half the bill. He explained that it was wrong to let the lady pick up the check on a date. I'd called it sexist, but we'd quickly gotten over it, bursting into fits of laughter. His slice of cake. I waited patiently for him to eat it, looking around the diner. It had been a while since I'd been in here. The last time I'd been here was the day before I stopped being a part of Team Natsu...

"Lucy!" Natsu called my name. I looked at him, in surprise.

"Yeah?" he shoved a spoonful of cake into my mouth. My eyes went wide and I quickly swallowed the spoonful, giving him back his spoon. I'll admit; the cake was pretty good.

"Why'd you do that for?" I asked, blushing slightly.

"It was delicious, so I figured I'd give you a taste of what you'd be having later." he smirked. I frowned, confused.

"I'm not eating cake later," he chuckled.

"Well, you're kissing me."

"And you have a point, I assume... what is it, exactly?"

"You're hopeless." was all he said, shaking his head and smiling, while finishing off his cake. Natsu paid and I made up an excuse of needing to use the restroom. He kissed my cheek and walked on outside. I walked up to the waitress and tipped her, while also ordering a slice of the cake Natsu had bought. Happy would love it. Then, I walked outside. Natsu raised an eyebrow at the cake.

"Bathroom, huh?"

"I figured Happy would like it," I shrugged. He wrapped an arm around my waist, and we headed towards my apartment.

Happy was asleep already, a half eaten fish in his mouth. Laughing silently, I took it out and turned off the lights in his room, leaving the door open just a crack. I then wrapped the fish up and placed it, along with the cake, in my fridge for Happy to eat whenever he woke up. When I returned to my own bedroom, Natsu had taken off his shirt, shoes, and pants, laying them at the foot of the bed. I covered my eyes, seeing as he was only in his underwear and scarf.

"You can look now," Natsu said. I uncovered my eyes, expecting him to have redressed, but instead he was laying covered up in my bed. I sighed in defeat and walked into my closet, changing into a pair of shorts and a tank-top with a built in sports bra. Turning out the light, I crawled into the bed hesitantly.

"Don't try anything," I warned. "I don't care if I love you. I. Will. Smack. You. Goodnight," I cuddled up to his chest as he scoffed.

"Please! I wouldn't... nah, I would." I hit his chest, earning a chuckle. His arms went around me, as he pressed his lips to my forehead.

"Sleep tight, Luce." I fell asleep with my ear pressed to his heart, feeling content after having the perfect first date. If this was what it would be like for all our lives, I was happy knowing I'd spend my life having dates at the diner and snuggling up to him, my safety net.
