Chapter 7

I had tea with Mum and Laya and helped mum wash the dishes. I helped Laya make a rose garden loom and then watched an episode of Breaking Bad with mum before I went back upstairs. When I did, eventually, get back upstairs, I was only reminded of Declan's air bed. It all of a sudden drew back the i-wish-he-was-mine thoughts and I let my limp body fall down onto the bed. I cuddled the pillow and rested my head within the dent he rested his.

I woke up the next morning at 6:30 AM, in the same position I was in when I fell asleep. I was still on Declan's bed and before getting up, I let my messy head nest into the soft pillow. I think pillows are my favourite part of bedtime. They're fantastic. "wake up sweety, it's 6:35!" Mum always gets me up like that, I'm assuming she thinks knowing the time will scare me into getting ready. It really doesn't. "Ok." I mutter back, into the pillow. "Um, Lottie, did you sleep on the airbed last night?" I rolled over, making the effort to face her as I spoke to her. "Yeah." I croaked, rubbing my eyes. "But you have a perfectly good bed there." She gestured towards my still freshly made bed. I panicked on this as I didn't know how to straight out tell her why I slept on the air bed. "I know, it's just I was so tired and the air bed looked so comfy!" She paused to process the information before flashing me a smile then closing the door, leaving me to get dressed.

School came quickly and as usual, I was left on my own with Caleb in a music room. "How's Skye?" I said, striking up a conversation. "Skye is fine." I nodded and looked away, accepting the fact that the next few minutes would be slightly awkward... Wait. "You guys didn't do anything you shouldn't have?" I looked at him, disapprovingly, before he stopped playing the piano and laughed. "Charlotte, there is nothing we "shouldn't" have been doing. We're both 17, so even if we did go there, it wasn't necessarily something we shouldn't have done. We could have done it, but we didn't." He looked at me, smugly smiling, then went back to playing the piano.

Bastian came in minutes after and stood in the corner with his arms crossed, smiling at me. "Hello, Charlotte." Why? What is everyone's problem with Lottie?! I hated my full name! I mean, my last name was Ok, because of Oliver Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon, but Charlotte was too posh-tottie and Rose was too sweet for me. Lottie was perfect for me because of Lottie La Bouf from The Princess and the Frog. I always promised myself that one day, I would be her face character. What? Lottie was awesome! "What the hell is your problem with Lottie?!" I yelled, making him jump into response. "Your name isn't Lottie." He stubbornly replied. This was my chance to take the absolute piss out of his name. His name wasn't Bastian, nor was it Sebastian. His full, double-barrelled first name was Sebastian-Johnny. He was so ashamed of his first name that he once got kicked out of a 15 rated movie because he refused to show the woman his passport to prove he was 16. I smiled, evilly. "Sorry. My mistake. Hello Sebastian-Johnny." I achieved two things from calling him that. One, was that he was never going to call me Charlotte again and two, was that his feelings were royally hurt. Caleb was clenching his stomach with laughter. Bastian looked at him, hurt in his eyes. "Sorry, but that was brilliant." Caleb exclaimed, chuckling. "Johnny!" He howled loudly. I glared at him, scaring him out of laughter. "It was funny for a few seconds. Now leave him alone!" I hissed. Caleb stopped laughing completely and went back to playing piano. Bastian was smiling at me, sweetly, so i shot him a glare too. "If you ever call me Charlotte again, you well permanently be Johnny!" He hung his head in shame and I left the room to find Leo and Declan in the hallway.

"Hey Lottie!" Yelled Leo, excitedly. He pulled me into a tight hug immediately as if to say sorry he had to dash the day before. Through his muscular arms, i could just see Declan, looking highly concerned. "Careful you don't squish her." Leo released me from his grip and looked hurtfully at Declan. "Was that a fat joke?" I laughed slightly and looked up at him. I had never seen Leo so hurt, this made me more determined to cheer him up. "No silly! It was a tall joke! You're not fat at all!" I smiled at him, reassuring him that Declan was just being an idiot. "I'll let you think that." Muttered Declan, ducking his head. This brought me to slap him on the arm, shutting him up. "Bitch." He audibly whispered in response to the slap. I went to stamp on his foot, but completely missed. I guess that's what you get for trying to stand on an Irish dancer's foot. They're just too fast!

Skye suddenly came bursting in through the doors at the end of the short corridor. "Where's Caleb?" She questioned, practically demanding us to lead her to him. I gestured towards the room he was in and she headed into it. As she brushed past me, I grabbed her arm and pulled her in. "Oh, hello sweetie." She muttered, leaning in close to me. She stood back and prepared herself to listen to me. "Can you come round tonight?" I quietly questioned. She looked at me, horrified. "Lottie Rose Sykes! I have a boyfriend now you know! Meaning my services are no longer available." I looked at her seriously and she laughed uncontrollably for a few seconds before stopping and leaning back into me. "Of course I can. Anything for my Lottie bear." She smiled and went to greet Caleb. With, I'm assuming, a kiss... Or a hug... But considering it was Skye, probably a kiss.
