Chapter 4

As he left, my eyes felt watery. Tears started to burst from my eyes and I couldn’t avert my gaze from the door. For the first time, I felt as if I had lost something really important to me. I didn’t know this feeling of losing someone even when my mother died and my freedom was taken. I was really confused but when Scarlett entered my room and comforted me I felt that maybe the lost of his presence would be good for me.

The next day, I decided to continue our journey to Kingdom of Ecrutia. I planned that we should go as fast as we can as we had been wasting our time for all the events and festivals. As soon as the sun rose, we directly prepare our things and continue our journey. Along the way, I was still being bothered by yesterday’s matter. The choices Eric told me to make and about my dreams. I suspected Scarlett so I had been keeping an eye on her these days. However, there were not even a single sign of her betrayal. Before I ate my meals, I had always been checking the food using a pure metal needle to test if there was any poison in it. Till now, there were no sign of anything and I started to let my guard down for a little.

A few days passed and we were resting in the tent and camp for a night. I told Scarlett to prepare my bath in advance while I was scouting the area. She did as I told but when I was going for to take my bath, I saw Scarlett and Rowan talking about something I couldn’t hear as they were whispering. I decided to observe a little longer and I found out that Scarlett and Rowan started to hug each other. Unable to keep my eyes on them, I went back to the tent.

On my way back, I was thinking what were they doing and how could they be together. Is it possible that what I dreamed is true, that Scarlett and Rowan would betray me? When I was thinking about that I didn’t feel anything but when Scarlett came and said that I took bath for too long, I realized that I was shivering for a while. So I decided to go and sleep. I tried to sleep for almost an hour but I still couldn’t. Every time I close my eyes, I felt uneasy as if something bas was approaching me. So instead of sleeping, I thought all night about the possibilities of Scarlett’s betrayal but I still couldn’t believe it as her face was so kind and her voice was so tender while she spoke to me.

At last, I slept due to exhaustion and I hope that I won’t be disturbed by any nightmares for that night.
