Ah, here I thought that today will be like yesterday. It seemed that I was wrong. Early in the morning, I was dragged by Damien to the garden and not surprisingly, Delvin was already there. As expected, the quarrel started. “Now, explain like how you promised!” said Damien. He replied, “Hmm… What do you think happened yesterday?”
Damien said it was about time to stop all this nonsense and spill all out. The conversation went on with Delvin explaining the matter and Damien asking why and what. There, I listened carefully but the conversation was getting more and more tense. Something was wrong as I heard Damien started to raise his voice. Just one sentence made me yell “No!” Just one sentence made me run away with eyes filled with tears. That one sentence is “You are not fit to be my brother”. After I heard that, I yelled, “Can’t you royalties be kinder to your siblings? How can you say something like that to the one who shared the same blood as you? Even normal citizens are better than you. At least they understand one word, to appreciate!”
As I ran, the whole world’s sound was fading before me. I didn’t feel it but when I slowed my footstep, I found myself in a trance. My whole surrounding was a pitch black. Suddenly, events started to happen which was shown just like a movie. With me standing there watching it closely. The thing which happened was a girl at around my age was testifying something to a man wearing grand clothes and an emblem of Ecrutia’s royalty was attached on his cloak. I thought that maybe it was the king. When suddenly the conversation developed into a slight quarrel, my vision blurred and the last thing I heard before I regain my full conscious was, “If Roseland wants a war so shall it be!”
It had to be a lie as Roseland had properly sent a princess here. So why is it that a war was going to break out? Suddenly, I remembered what my mother said in my dream. If I had not mistaken it was about a betrayal which would destroy the whole country. I ran to where Damien and Delvin were just now. Unfortunately, they were no where to be spotted.
Simultaneously, I ran back to the castle to try and find where they are. I checked their rooms and dining hall but I found nothing. “This is really bad.” I thought. When I was going to give up about discussing this matter to them, Damien found me. At first I thought that it might be useless to tell him about my dream and my trance. However, my heart told me to tell him and I started by telling him to follow me. I went to the tulip garden he once showed me as I believed that no one had entered this place except the Queen, Damien and me.
The first thing I did was telling him everything starting from how I got here to the trance I had just now. Still, I was reluctant to tell him my real identity so I just concealed it. Though I thought I succeed in hiding it from him, he asked me why I cared about Roseland that much and how did I know about Princess Leticia. I was so frustrated. In one side of my heart I wanted him to realize who I am already but in the other side I wanted this to be a secret as from the time I met Eric, I had no intentions of marrying him. However, I would still expose Scarlett to be the fake princess by any means.
When I thought of how risky this was, I couldn’t help myself. This was not the time to be selfish or to be a sheltered princess. At last, I told him about my real identity. It took time for me to explain about all of it. I was so scared that he wouldn’t believe me. Until he took my hand and said, “I knew it! I have always believed it! From the moment I saw you, I know you are different from normal girls. The way you carried yourself and the way you danced revealed your identity. From the first time I had always known that you are mine.”
“Impossible!” my heart screamed. He had known it from the start even when I had acted so convincingly?!This is worse than Scarlett’s betrayal to me. Now that he made sure that I was the real Princess Leticia, I would never be able to fly from this enormous golden cage. He dragged my hand while saying, “Let’s go I will tell all of this to my parents. I will make them accept you as my bride. At that time, I could feel my face slowly losing colors.
