Chapter 18

The next day, I woke up earlier than usual and dressed myself nicely before going out from my room. Since it was still dawn, I decided to take a stroll in the garden and let myself be at peace and to recollect my mind and courage.

The garden looked like 4 group of trees nicely trimmed stood in four sides, north, south, east and west with a fountain made of marble stood proudly in the middle. The wind blew softly and caused the leaves to dance gracefully. The flower petals started to shower the rich soil with its outstanding color. The orange sunlight slowly appears from the east covering the whole garden with its illuminating light. The water in the fountain dazzles as the sunlight fell on them. It was such a perfect view but my hands felt cold as there were no one holding my hand and share this view with me which was such a disappointment.

The birds started to soar and conquer the sky while chirping sweetly. After spending some time in the garden, I started heading back to my room as I felt my stomach grumbling like thunder. As I was entering my room, the sweet smell of pancakes hit me. The maple syrup was so alluring that I immediately savored it. Moreover, pancakes were my favorite cake.

“Now I wonder where you went this early in the morning without even telling me.”Rosalie said. At that time, I was eating so greedily that I didn’t realize that she was there. I also didn’t know since when Rosalie became an elder sister to me. Always worrying and cared for me. She cracked a smile when she saw I accidentally pushed my pancakes over which stained my dress. When I realized what had happened, I was sad as it was such a waste. “Easy girl, I’ll get another serving for you. In the meantime, change your clothes with the one I had prepared earlier.” she said as she smiled. I told her not to bother and asked her to wash my dress as I needed some time alone.

I observed the dress which she prepared for me. It was the dress that my father gave me. A white dress with golden laces but somehow a few roses were now stitched. At that time, when all Scarlett’s plan failed, all my belongings came back to me but I didn’t know why or when all of them were changed and improved into better ones like this dress for example.

After I changed my dress, I did my hair by putting all of my hair up with hair pins decorated with roses. Those pins were gold in color which actually matches with my dress. Looking at myself, I accidentally thought about all those bedtime stories which Ashley told me when I was small. I meant had I somehow realized that my story was similar to that of Cinderella. She lost her mother like me and she worked as a maid for her stepmother and stepsisters while I worked as a maid in the castle. She found herself marrying a prince later on which I would possibly do. Imagining how my life would turn out to be the same ending as Cinderella’s made me laugh. However, she would be with the prince she loved and on the other hand I would lose all my love. Sometimes, I couldn’t help but to wonder about the words my father said to me. He once said that a girl tends to love a man who is by her side which made me even more confused.

No matter what the outcome would be, life had to go on. With this thought on my mind, I finished my hairdo and motioned towards the balcony. From here, I could see the wonderful garden. I took a deep breath and smiled. Unconsciously, I started to sing a song which Eric once sang. It was about a young man meeting a young girl who eventually loved each other but their love was opposed by their entire family. At last, they decided to elope but were caught by the young man’s elder brother who killed the young girl while believing that this was the best for his brother. The young man’s heart shattered and from then on, he played with the heart of countless women and lastly killed himself with his sword. Both families started accusing each other for their own children death. When the God heard about this, he pitied them and miraculously, the young man and the young girl were blessed by the God and found each other again in their new life.
