Over The Pond Proposal

(I should have put a gore warning up for the last one)

Johnny Toast was never the best at asking people questions.

He was sat at his table, sipping the tea and trying to write a letter to his boyfriend, who was currently in America with his family.

He was planning to propose before Ghost left, but he never got the courage. So he thought of sending him a letter.

He looked at the ring in the box. A gold ring with the pi symbol on it.

"Dear Sir.."

He wrote.

"In this box is a ring. I know we have been a couple for a good few months now, but I feel something. I love you, and I want you to know that you don't have to say 'yes' if you aren't ready to. But I want to ask: Will you marry me? If you say yes, send me back this empty ring box. If you say no, send be back the box with the ring."

"Love, your Toast. Xxxx"

"It looks right?" he said, re-reading his note. "Does it look okay? It's going to be a month until I see him, but I can't hold this back for much longer."

He looked at the readers. "Well?" before sighing, kissing the letter and putting it in the envelop before putting the stamp on the letter.

He walked out into the winter rain and put the letter under his coat to protect it. When he reached the post office, he kissed the front before posting it.

A few agonising weeks later, Toast was sipping his fourth cup of tea in the hour. His knee was bouncing up and down nervously. He knew he shouldn't have proposed over letter. And he also knew that it took a good while to send a letter to another country.

He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice a small bit of paper fly through the letter box.

As he walked to go and make his fifth cup of tea, he picked it up.

"Johnathan Toast. This is a note to say that a parcel from another country has flown in for you. You must pay the fee of £10.50 to get it into the country before the end of the week. If not, we shall send it back."

His hands shook as he walked down to the post office, as he paid for it and as he sat in his car to open it.

A small box sat in his shaking, sweaty hand. Tears threatened to fall. He took in a deep breath to open it.

He opened it.

And gasped loudly.

The ring was still in there..

Along with a note.

"Johnny Toast. I accept your proposal. Just know how much I love you. I should be on the next plane back. Take this ring to seal our engagement. I love you so much and I can't wait to see you again. Love, your darling little Ghost Xxxx"

He raised an eyebrow before pulling back and looking at the ring.

He looked at it closely. The tears falling from his eyes made it harder but that was when he noticed.

Ghost had gotten him a matching ring.

He smiled happily and put the ring on, before driving back to the house.

He got in and watched as a figure walked through to the lounge.

"Hello, Johnny. I missed you."

Toast ran over and pulled Ghost out of his chair and kissed him. "I missed you too Sir. I love you. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Ghost teared up and hugged him tightly. "I can't either. I love you too."

The two put their hands together and laced their fingers together, looking at the matching rings and smiling softly at each other, before leaning in for another kiss.

Okay. Sorry again this took so long.

I hope you all enjoyed this one shot.

I will see you next time.

Bye my lovely bird people.
