real life.
BRIDGET GREETED HER mother and Chris as soon as they entered the apartment. Though she couldn't attend the premiere with them, she watched the live feed from other actors' profiles online. She saw that they announced their engagement, she saw when Chris nearly tripped over his own feet and she saw the look her mother had when she glanced at Chris. Bridget knew it all.
Bridget didn't hesitate to wrap her mother in a hug, and then Chris. However, her arms stayed around her dad as she watched her mother sit down and let out a yawn. Bridget rose an eyebrow in confusion, she hardly ever saw her mother tired.
"You okay, mom?" Bridget asked.
Carmen nodded, holding her hands out and motioning her to come closer. "Yeah. Come here, mija. Chris and I have something to tell you."
Bridget stepped closer to her mother, allowing her to take her hands. She glanced at Chris, who gave her a reassuring smile, then back to her mother.
"What's going on?" She questioned, "Should I be worried?"
"No, no, no." Her mother answered, shaking her head. "Mija, you're going to be a big sister. We're pregnant."
A moment of silence passed, then Bridget slowly began to grin, glancing between her mother and her dad.
"You're pregnant?" She asked, "Oh my god, you two really did— oh no." Bridget burst into giggles, squeezing her mother into a hug.
Chris soon joined them, embracing his growing family and placed a kiss to the top of Bridget's head. He did the same to Carmen as she nuzzled closer to his body.
"So, you're happy, mija?" Carmen asked softly, looking at her daughter. "We don't want you to think we've forgotten you."
"Are you kidding!" Bridget exclaimed, jumping back. "I've always wanted a little sibling, and mom, I'll be sixteen in a month. I'm practically an adult."
"Oh god," Carmen groaned as Chris laughed.
"Let's not give your mother a heart attack, kid." Chris smiled, pulling Bridget into a hug. "I don't think me or your little sibling would like that very much."
Bridget giggled, standing on her toes to kiss Chris' cheek and then wrapped her around her mother again. Carmen sighed happily, holding her daughter while Chris could only grin.
This was the dream. This was his family. And he couldn't have been happier.
