CHRIS WAS DEFINITELY a little nervous as they walked into their lawyer's office. However, Chris was thankful that Dawn knew what she was doing and had yet to let him down in the few years they've known each other. He had faith in this trial, and this meeting was just to solidify their case to guarantee that Bee stayed with them, despite whatever allegations Daniel threw at them.

He held Carmen's hand firmly, mainly as a reason to touch her and for reassurance. Both his girls had been reassuring him all morning long, and part of him believed that this would all work out.

When they sat down in Dawn's conference room, she laid out all the paperwork, some evidence and a copy of Bridget's birth certificate. Chris knew that Dawn was going all out for this, and the three of them were thankful beyond measure.

Dawn sighed as she looked up, "Based on some of the things we've seen, we should not be surprised if Daniel tries to degrade your family in anyway. This may even include him lying and claiming that Bridget is in some danger at home or that's he's received messages that she wants to live with him. If that's the case, they'll call for visitation and call CPS. Do not be alarmed."

Carmen bit down on her lip as she glanced to Chris. His thumb ran over her knuckles as she looked back to Dawn. "If that were to happen, what do we do?" She asked.

"We'll call Chris' mom to testify on your behalf, and your friend." Dawn began to explain. "CPS will do in-home supervision and interviews. It will only help us, in the end."

Carmen visibly relaxed and let out a short breath, and even squeezed Chris' hand in relief.

Dawn went to speak again, but a sudden ringing quickly cut her off. Carmen apologized, and excused herself to answer the phone. She motioned for Dawn and Chris to continue without her for a few moments.

"What evidence do we have?" Chris asked once Carmen was gone from the room. "In the event that Daniel doesn't accuse us of anything."

Dawn spread the papers out, ranging from official documents and screenshots from social media encounters. She sighed and looked up from the documents, "Well, obviously we have no legal father on her birth certificate. Then we have conversations and tweets that show that he's unfit for guardianship."

"Thank god," he breathed in relief. Chris turned around when he heard the door open again, and he smiled as Carmen came back in. "Hi, princess."

Carmen kissed his cheek before she sat down and sighed. "I don't have a job, apparently. They hired someone younger and not pregnant. Also, appreciate I won't need money because I'm marrying Chris Evans."

Dawn frowned, "Alright." She muttered, "I'm not a manager or anything, but let's keep this quiet. Either way, I'm positive that we're gonna win this case."

Chris reached over for Carmen's hand and gently squeezed. "We've got this, and we'll figure it out. I'm sorry that you didn't get the job because of me, princess."

She smiled, "Don't worry about it. We've got this."
